Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
MANGATEITEI SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 173 acres, more or less, being Section 28, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the Rangataua Road; towards the north-east by the Mangateitei Stream; towards the south-east by Section 17, Block V, Karioi Survey District; and towards the south-west by Section 16, Block V, Karioi Survey District, and by Sections 27 and 25, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 443/5, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

JACK’S PEAK SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 111 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or less, being Section 5 (formerly portion of Section 4), Block XII, Rimu Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the most northern corner of the aforesaid section; thence bounded towards the north-east by lines bearing 102° 43′, 680·1 links, 135° 32′ 30″, 4839·7 links; towards the south-east and south-west by lines bearing 219° 19′, 835·1 links, 276° 24′, 1930·6 links, 282° 54′, 1276·4 links, 337° 33′, 865·4 links, 294° 13′, 1138·7 links; and towards the north-west by the abutment of a road, and by lines bearing 21° 38′ 20″, 2208·4 links, and 24° 16′, 471·2 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 107/8, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 380 acres, more or less, being Section 16, Block VII, Waipakura Survey District, being part of Te Tuhi 4a Block. Bounded towards the south by the Rangiriri Stream; towards the south-west, north-west, and north-east generally by the other part of Te Tuhi 4a Block; and towards the east generally by the Wanganui River: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 602/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
