SCHEDULE.
MAUNGANUI BLUFF SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,223 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 29, Block X, and Section 1 of Block XII, Waipoua Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Waipoua No. 2a No. 1 Block, from high-water mark, Tasman Sea, to the westernmost corner of Section 3, Block X, Waipoua Survey District; towards the north-east and east by Sections 3 and 4 of Block X aforesaid; towards the south by Section 2, Block XII, Waipoua Survey District, again towards the north-east by Section 2 aforesaid, the abutment of a road, and again by said Section 2; towards the south-east by Section 19, Block XII aforesaid, and the abutment of a road; and towards the south-west by high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to Waipoua No. 2a No. 1 Block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 431/23, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
HUIOTEKO SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 33 acres 1 rood 33 perches, more or less, being Section 12, Block III, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Section 10, Block III, Aria Survey District, 2657·5 links; towards the east by Section 1, Block VIII, Aria Survey District, 1661·8 links; towards the south by Section 1 aforesaid, 1921·8 links; and towards the west by the Ohura-Mokau Road, 1269·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 612/1A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
PUKEREW A SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 194 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 1, Block VI, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the east generally by the Waite whena Road, 6223·6 links; towards the south generally by Section 4,
Block VI, Aria Survey District, 5488·6 links; and towards the west and north-west generally by Section 7, Block V, Aria Survey District, 6874·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 612/1B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
WAITAKA SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,060 acres, more or less, being Section 6, Block VII, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Section 3, Block VII, Aria Survey District, 24198·9 links; again towards the north and towards the east generally by the Ohura-Mokau Road, 5897 links; towards the east, south-east, and south generally by Sections 3 and 4, Block VIII, and Section 1, Block XI, all in the Aria Survey District, 32057·7 links; and towards the west generally by the Waikaka and Pirere Streams, and the Pirere Road, 5230·9 links, and again by the Pirere Stream: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 612/1C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
HAPU SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 40 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 5, Block X, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 3, Block X, Aria Survey District, 1949·2 links; towards the south-east and south by Section 2, Block XIV, Aria Survey District, 3732·5 links; and towards the north-west by the Waite whena Road, 2935·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 612/1D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
PURA SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 79 acres, more or less, being Section 5, Block XIII, Aria Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Section 1, Block XIII, Aria Survey District, 4762·1 links; towards the east generally by the Pura Road, 2165·6 links; and towards the south and west generally by Section 2 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 5629 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 612/1E, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
HUHATAHI SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 220 acres, more or less, being Section 3, Block VIII, Waro Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the Huhatahi Road and Section 8, Block VIII, Waro Survey District, 9913·5 links; towards the east by a stream; towards the south generally by Section 4 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 4309 links; towards the south-west by Section 2 of the aforesaid block and survey district, 5224·5 links; and towards the north-west by the aforesaid Section 2, 4993·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 613/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
TOTORO SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 59 acres and 30 perches, more or less, being Section 4, Block XI, Totoro Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 18, Block XI, Totoro Survey District, 3581 links; towards the east by Section 6 of Block XI aforesaid, 1737·4 links; towards the south by the Owen Road, 3398·1 links; and towards the west by Section 19 of Block XI aforesaid, 1505·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 614/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
