THE following resolution, made by the Westport Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution passed by the Westport Borough Council.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Council of the Westport Borough hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund on a loan authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council for the construction of municipal swimming-baths, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/20 of a penny in the pound upon all rateable property within the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Westport Borough Council held on the 20th day of September, 1911.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Pukekohe East Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908.

PUKEKOHIE EAST ROAD BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Tuakau Special-rating Area, in the Pukekohe East Road District, was taken on the 16th day of September, 1911, on the proposal of the Pukekohe East Road Board to borrow the sum of £1,500 for purchasing part of private land and fencing and forming and metalling same to make a road from Whangarata to Tuakau.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 97. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 59. Informal votes, 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Kaponga was taken on the 26th day of September, 1911, on the proposal of the Kaponga Town Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 for water and drainage purposes.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 41. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waitotara was taken on the 27th day of September, 1911, on the proposal of the Waitotara County Council to borrow the sum of £5,300 for road formation, widening, and erecting bridges throughout the county.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 229. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF PALMERSTON.

Notice of Poll for Proposed Loan.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto; and in the matter of a special loan of £1,000 proposed to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Palmerston.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 27th day of September, 1911, a proposal was submitted by the above-named Council to the Borough of Palmerston for raising a special loan of £1,000 for the erection of a Coronation town hall and municipal offices, which proposal was published in the Palmerston and Waikouaiti Times newspaper of the 25th August, 1st, 8th, and the 15th September, 1911; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 86 votes; against the proposal, 4 votes; informal, nil.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Defining Napier River, Extended River, and Extreme River Limits.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Marine, do hereby define the Napier limits within which restricted-limits steamships and ships propelled by gas, oil, fluid, electricity, or any mechanical power other than steam, and to which restricted-limits certificates are issued may ply to be those set forth herein, and I do divide such limits into river, extended river, and extreme river limits.
