Special Order made by the Raglan County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Raglan County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order altering Riding Boundaries and fixing Representation thereof, and constituting New Ridings of Pukekawa and Port Waikato.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, section 4 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers whatsoever in this behalf enabling, and subject to the consent of the Governor in Council, the Council of the County of Raglan hereby resolves as follows:—

That the present Onewhero Riding be subdivided into two ridings by a line commencing at the north-west corner of Section 75 of Block VIII, Onewhero; thence running in a south-westerly direction along the western boundaries of Sections 75 and 76 to the south-west corner of Section 76; thence east along the southern boundaries of Sections 76 and 77 to the north-east corner of Section 156; thence south-west along the eastern boundary of same section to the north-east corner of Section 158; thence south to the southern boundary of the south-west portion of Section No. 8 of Block XII; thence south along the western boundaries of Sections 3, 11, 1, and Opuatia No. 3B to the Opuatia Creek. And that all the area to the west of the above-mentioned line remain and be known as the Onewhero Riding, with the representation of one Councillor; and that all the area to the east of the aforesaid line (together with Section 6 of Block XIII, Maramarua; 4, 9, and 10, Opuatia Parish; and 3, Opuatia Parish; 5, 6, and 7 of Block XII, Onewhero; 2 and 3 of Block IX, Maramarua; 7D, Opuatia; 4 of XII, Onewhero; 7C, Opuatia; 3 and 4 of XIII, Maramarua; 7 of XVI, Opuatia; 9 and 2 of XII and XVI, Onewhero; part 3, Opuatia; 11, 1, 3, 5, and 6 of XII and XV, Onewhero; 5 and 7 of XIII, Maramarua; 7B, Opuatia; 10 of IX, Onewhero; 10 and 4 of XII and IX, Onewhero; 4 and 2 of XIII and XVI, Onewhero; and 7A, Opuatia, of Block IX, Maramarua, which are hereby deleted from the present Whangape Riding) shall be constituted a new riding to be known as the Pukekawa Riding, with the representation of one Councillor.

That the present Te Akau Riding be divided into two ridings by a line commencing at the south-west corner of Section No. B 29 of Block IX, Awaroa; thence following the southern boundary of the same section to the Waikaretu Road, and thence following the said Waikaretu Road to the riding boundary at the south-east corner of Section No. B 30, Awaroa. And that the area to the south of the above-mentioned line be known and constituted as the Te Akau Riding, with the representation of one Councillor; and that the area to the north of the said line (with the addition of Sections part Putataka No. 1A, 3, and 4 of Block XIII, Onewhero; Section 1 and part Section 2 of Block XIII, Onewhero, which are hereby deleted from the Onewhero Riding) shall be constituted and known as the Port Waikato Riding, with the representation of one Councillor.

The boundaries of the aforementioned ridings shall now be as follows:—

Pukekawa Riding.

Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 3 of Block XIV, Maramarua; thence west to the south-west corner of Section 10; thence along the block-line to the south-east corner of Section 7; thence along the western boundary of Section 8 to the Otauti Road; thence west along the said road-line to the north-east corner of Section 3B, Opuatia; thence along the eastern boundary of same section to the Opuatia Creek; thence west along the Opuatia Creek to the south-west corner of Section 3B, Opuatia; thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 3B, 1, 2, 3, 8A, and 158 to the north-east corner of Section 158; thence west along the southern boundaries of Sections 77 and 76; and thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 76 and 75 to the Waikato River; and thence following the bank of the Waikato River to the point of commencement.

Whangape Riding.

Commencing at the north-east corner of Section 6, Opuatia; thence south along the Waikato River to the south-east corner of Section 62 of Block III, Rangiriri; thence along the road-line to the west corner of Section 36; and thence south along the south-east bank of the Whangape Lake to the south-east corner of Section 2 of Block V; thence west along the road-line to the south-east corner of Section 60 of Block XIII; thence west along the southern boundary of same section to the south-east corner of Section 53; thence south along the eastern boundaries of Sections 52, 51, 86 to the south-east corner of Section 86; thence west to the north-east corner of Section 88; thence south along the eastern boundary of same section; thence west along the southern boundary of Section 88 to the north-east corner of Section 215; thence along the east and south boundaries of Section 215 to the block-line; thence north along the block-line to the north-west corner of Section 119A; thence east along the northern boundary of Section 119A and south boundary of Section 107 to the south-east corner of Section 107; thence north along the west boundary of Section 95 to the road-line; thence east along the road-line to the south-west corner of Section North 94; thence east along the south boundary of Section 90 to the road-line; thence north along the road-line to the north-east corner of Section 90; thence east along the block-line to the south-east corner of Opuatia No. 4A to the Opuatia Creek; thence east along the said creek to the south corner of Section 3B, Opuatia; thence along the east boundary of same section to road-line; thence east along the road-line to the north-east corner of Section 8; and thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 7, 10, and 3 to the point of commencement.

Onewhero Riding.

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 113 of Block IX, Onewhero; thence east along the bank of the Waikato River to the north-east corner of Section 95 of Block VIII, Onewhero; thence south along the eastern boundaries of Sections 95, 96, 166, and 149 to the south-east corner of Section 149; thence east along the north boundaries of Sections 150 and 156; thence along the eastern boundaries of Sections 156, 157, 8R, 22, and 4, Opuatia, to the Opuatia Creek; thence west along the southern boundaries of Sections Opuatia 4, 48, 5C, to the south-west corner of Section 5B No. 1; thence south along the road-line to the south-east corner of Section 90; thence west along the southern boundary of same section to the north-west corner of Section North 94; thence south along the west boundary of same section to the road-line; thence west along the road-line to the south-west corner of Section 102; thence south along the east boundary of Section 107 to the block-line; thence west along the block-line to the south-west corner of Section 114; thence north along the block-line to the south-west corner of Section 5 of XIII; thence north to the Moewaka Road; thence north-west along the said road to the south-east corner of Section 2 of Block IX; thence along the southern boundary of same section and north along the western boundary of same section to the north-west corner of said section; thence west along the northern boundary of Section 1 to the road-line; and thence north along the road-line to the point of commencement.

Port Waikato Riding.

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section B 29 of Block IX, Awaroa; thence east along the south boundary of same section to the road-line; and thence east along the road-line to the south-east corner of Section B 30; thence north along the block-line to the south-west corner of Section 5 of XIII, Onewhero; thence west along the western boundary of Section 5 to the Moewaka Road; thence west along the road-line to the south-east corner of Section 2 of IX, Onewhero; thence north to the south-west corner of same section; thence west along the northern boundary of Section 1 to the road-line; thence north-west along the road-line to the Waikato River; and thence west and south along the Waikato River and the coast-line to the point of commencement.

Te Akau Riding.

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 60 of Blocks X and XIII, Whaingaroa; thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 60, 59, 123, 120, and 121 to the block-line; thence north along the block-line to the north-west corner of Section 73 of Block X, Awaroa; thence west along the Waikaretu Road to the coast-line; thence south along the coast-line to Rangitoto Point; and thence along the northern shore of the Whaingaroa Harbour to the point of commencement.

The above resolution was duly passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on the 10th day of March, 1911, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 12th day of April, 1911.
