Altitude, 70 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Undulating fern and manuka country, with a few swampy gullies. Heavy clay soil inferior to medium in quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by swampy springs. Situated four miles by cart-road from Long Bay, thence sixteen miles by steamer to Auckland, or fourteen miles from Devonport by cart-road.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eleven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Situated two miles from the Village of Kakahi—one mile and a half formed road, known as Lagoon Road, remainder unformed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrant of the fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred, appointing the Whakatane County Council to be trustees for the Whakatane Public Cemetery, and appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
