WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of completing the erection of coal-gas works for the borough, the purchase of land on which to erect such gasworks, the purchase of all necessary material, plant, and machinery, and the laying of gas-mains, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby authorizes the raising of a special loan of £750, such amount being one-tenth of the loan known as the Gasworks Loan of £7,500, raised by the Waipawa Borough Council under Part I of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908; and that such special loan be for a period of thirty-one years computed from the 1st day of July, 1911; and that the rate of interest be £5 per centum per annum, and the amount of sinking fund be £1 per centum per annum; and that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be paid out of the moneys so raised.

And that, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in connection with the said loan, the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/11 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the boundaries of the Borough of Waipawa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Christchurch Tramway Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

In the matter of the Christchurch Tramway Board; and in the matter of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906, and of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Fendalton Tramway Extension.

We hereby give public notice that a poll of the electors of the Fendalton Tramway District Special-loan Rating-area was held on Thursday, the 31st day of August, 1911, on the proposal of the Christchurch Tramway Board to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £7,000, to be expended for the purpose of constructing and equipping a tramway in the above special-rating area, particulars of which proposals have been already advertised in the newspapers; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 115; against, 52.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

In the matter of the Christchurch Tramway Board; and in the matter of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906, and of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Dallington Tramway.

We hereby give public notice that a poll of the electors of the Dallington Tramway District Special-loan Rating-area was held on Thursday, the 31st day of August, 1911, on the proposal of the Christchurch Tramway Board to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £6,500, to be expended for the purpose of constructing and equipping a tramway in the above special-rating area, particulars of which proposals have been already advertised in the newspapers; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 130; against, 89.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

NEWMARKET BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Newmarket taken on the 6th day of September, 1911, on the proposal of the Newmarket Borough Council to borrow the sum of £30,000 for street improvements, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 275; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 85; informal, 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF WEST HARBOUR.

The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and Amendments thereof.

I, HAGBARTH ERNEST MÖLLER, Mayor of the Borough of West Harbour, do hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of St. Leonards Ward of the Borough of West Harbour was taken on the 7th day of September, 1911, upon the proposal of the Council of the said borough to raise a special loan of £1,000, to be applied to the construction of footpaths and improving existing roads and footpaths in St. Leonards Ward (£750), and additions to the public Hall, St. Leonards (£250), and at such poll the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 65; against the proposal, 17; majority for the proposal, 48.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorize the laying-off of Myrtle Street, in the Town of Claudelands Subdivision No. 13, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 90 ft.
