RESULT of poll, 17th June, 1911: For the proposal, 80; against the proposal, 14; informal, 2.

There being at least three-fifths of the total votes polled in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried, in accordance with the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Rangiaohia Road District was taken on the 12th day of August, 1911, on a proposal by the Rangiaohia Road Board to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of metalling roads.

The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 77. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated at Te Awamutu, this 14th day of August, 1911.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

We, John Vigor Brown, Mayor of the Borough of Napier, and Arthur Ward Lascelles, Returning Officer for the said borough, hereby give notice that on the 23rd day of August, 1911, a poll of the ratepayers in the Borough of Napier was duly held and taken on the proposal of the Napier Borough Council to raise a special loan of £10,000 for the purpose of carrying out such works as may be necessary for the drainage of all or any part of the low-lying lands in the Borough of Napier situate to the south of Tennyson Street and Carlyle Street.

At such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 329; against the proposal, 110; majority for the proposal, 219; informal, 7.

Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.

At a poll of the ratepayers of the Upper Hutt Town District taken on Saturday, 1st July, 1911, upon a proposal to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of erecting Town Board offices in brick, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 123; against the proposal, 63; informal, 4.

The proposal was therefore carried.

Result of Poll of Ratepayers taken on Proposal to borrow the Sum of £2,000 for Installation of Acetylene-gas Lighting Plant.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby notify that the following is the result of the poll of ratepayers taken over the Ngaruawahia Town District on the 23rd day of August, 1911, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the installation of an acetylene-gas lighting plant in the said town district: Number of valid votes recorded, 65; for the proposal, 30; against the proposal, 35.

The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being less than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I therefore declare the proposal lost.
