NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same.
We, John Vigor Brown, Mayor of the Borough of Napier, and Arthur Ward Lascelles, Returning Officer for the said borough, hereby give notice that on the 23rd day of August, 1911, a poll of the ratepayers in the Borough of Napier was duly held and taken on the proposal of the Napier Borough Council to raise a special loan of £15,000 for the purpose of construction and installation of works for electric lighting and power and electric tramways in the Borough of Napier.
At such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 296; against the proposal, 133; majority for the proposal, 163; informal, 10.
Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.

Notice of Resolution recommending Withdrawal of Land from the Operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and its Amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor in Council, acting under the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 33 of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and section 9 of the Kauri-gum Industry Amendment Act, 1910, that a resolution has been passed by the Auckland Land Board certifying that to the best of their knowledge and belief the portion of Te Mata Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of gum-digging, and recommending the Governor to issue an Order in Council declaring the said area to be no longer subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908. Any objections to this proposal must be sent to His Excellency the Governor within two months from the date hereof.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situated in Block VI, Hukerenui Survey District, being part of Te Mata Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, set apart by Order in Council dated 21st August, 1899, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 71, of 24th August, 1899, page 1556. Bounded towards the north by Section 51, Block VI, Hukerenui Survey District, 1272 links; towards the west by the aforesaid section, 472 links; towards the north-east by a public road, 92·5 and 79 links; towards the east by Section 8, Block VI aforesaid, 1037·4 links; towards the south by Section 8 aforesaid and by Section 4 of Block VI aforesaid, 1372 links; and towards the west by Section 4 aforesaid, 700·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1285/20A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notice to Mariners No. 104 of 1911.
PORT NICHOLSON.—REMOVAL AND CHANGE IN POSITION OF FALCON SHOAL BEACON.

WITH reference to Notice to Mariners No. 84 of the 22nd July, 1911, the Wellington Harbour Board have notified that on and after Monday, the 11th September next, the black and white buoy with horizontal stripes which carries a red light and now marks the western edge of the Falcon Shoal will be removed. It will be replaced on the 25th September next in a position at the eastern edge of the shoal where the red and white segments of the Somes Island light blend. This position is about eight cables distant from the Karaka Bay wharf, and bears N. 89° E. from it.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—DREDGING IN COMMERCIAL HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 29th August, 1911.
THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that until further notice the dredger “Hapai” will be working off Nos. 3 and 4 jetties in the Commercial Harbour, with six chain moorings laid out in different directions. A red light by night will be shown on the clearest side for passing. Mariners are warned to approach and pass the dredger with great caution.
