lows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments
in respect of principal and interest and also the other
charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by
the Awatere Road Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the construction of an
extension of a new road from Richmond Brook to Upton
Downs, the said Awatere Road Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property over a special-rating area,
being part of the Upper Awatere Subdivision, comprising
Lots 3, 4, and 8, Awatere Estate; Lots 3 and 4 (namely,
part of 18) of Block VI, Section 19 of Block VI, parts 31
and 33 of Block VI, part of VII, parts 3 of Block II
and 1 of Block VI, parts 18 of Block VI, 33 of Block VI,
Section 32 of Block VI, 34 of Block VI, 40 of Block VI,
Sections 57 to 62 and part Section 47 of Square 40, Blue
Mountain Survey District; Lot 8, Awatere Estate, being
4 of Block II, part of VII, part 3 of Block II, part 31
of Block VI, Section 30 of Block VI, and 39 of Block VI,
Blue Mountain Survey District: and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day
of September and the 1st day of March in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid
off; and that the cost of raising the loan and first year’s
interest of the loan shall be paid out of the loan.

Council, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its
amendments.

OPOTIKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Amendment Act, 1910, the Opotiki County Council hereby
resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing
the instalments in respect of principal and interest and
also the other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to
be raised by the Opotiki County Council, under the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the
formation, construction, and metalling of roads, the erec-
tion of bridges and making the approaches thereto in the
Opotiki County, the purchase of land required for the
said roads or any portion thereof, and generally all things
necessary or incidental to the execution and completion
of the said works, the said sum of £12,000 to be expended
in three successive years and be apportioned as follows—

a special rate of 15/32 of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the County of
Opotiki, comprising the whole of the County of Opotiki;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, James Burham Gow, Chairman of the Opotiki County
Council, do hereby certify that the above resolution was
duly made and passed at a meeting of the Opotiki County
Council held on the 4th day of August, 1911.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Chairman,
Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Opotiki County has
been hereunto affixed.

THE following resolution, made by the Cook County
Council, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution made on the 11th Day of August, 1911.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
Amendment Act, 1910, the Cook County Council hereby
resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing
the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, autho-
rized to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for meeting the payment of a levy
made by the Cook Hospital Board to erect a new hospital,
&c., the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 1/24 of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the County of
Cook, as defined in Gazette No. 72, 1909, page 2242;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off. The
rate of interest to be 3½ per cent.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the
presence of—
