Opening National Endowment Land in Southland Land District for Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.-WALLACE COUNTY.-JACOBS RIVER HUNDRED.

Second-class Land.

Situation, fair. Access bv unformed road. Distant three-quarters of a mile from Otaki Railway-station and post-office, two miles from Colac Bay, and five miles from River-ton. Bush worked out by sawmill, but timber available for fencing and firewood. Flat land, soil good when drained. Lease will be subject to existing tramway rights until the same are cancelled by the Land Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Opening Settlement Lands in Canterbury Land District for Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

First-class Land.

Situated on the Sawyer's Arms Road, near Papanui, about two miles and a quarter from the tramway terminus and railway-station at Papanui, and about five miles from Christchurch Post-office. Open, level agricultural land, with black soil on a sandy clay subsoil; excellently adapted for fruit-growing, market gardening, or small farming; the land is in good order, laid down in clover and grass.

PAPARUA COUNTY.-ROLLESTON SURVEY DISTRICT.-DRAYTON SETTLEMENT.

Situated respectively about two miles and one mile north-westward from Templeton Railway-station, which is nine miles from Christchurch on the Christchurch-Dunedin Main Trunk Railway line. Open, level agricultural land, Section 5 consisting of good light soil in grass, and Section 17 of rich land in wheat stubble. The improvements, which are included in the price of the sections, are as follows: Section 5, 197½ chains of boundary and subdivision fencing, valued at £90 8s.; Section 17, 16 chains of boundary-fencing, valued at £6.

Land temporarily reserved as an Addition to a Public Recreation-ground in the Town of Inglewood, Taranaki Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as an addition to a public recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 218, Town of Inglewood. Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of Elliot Street, Town of Inglewood, distant 336 links in a northerly direction from its intersection with Rata Street, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction at a right angle to Elliot Street, a distance of 225 links; thence in a north-westerly direction at a right angle, a distance of
