Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Bush worked out by sawmills, but timber available for fencing and firewood.

Roads in course of construction.

Situation fair. Distance five miles from Tuatapere Railway-station, post-office, and school. Dairy factory in course of erection at Tuatapere. Heavy bush land, principally birch and red-pine; well watered; soil good. Weighted with £64 7s. 6d., valuation for sawmilling timber. If selected for cash, one-third of the amount must be paid immediately the application is approved, the balance to be paid at the same time as the balance of the purchase-money. If the section is selected on occupation with right of purchase or renewable lease, one-third of the amount must be paid with the first half-year's rent, the balance within twelve months from date of selection. The lease or license shall, however, contain a condition that it shall be immediately forfeited if the value of the timber is not paid on demand. After the first payment the time for the payment of the balance may be extended on proof that the timber has not been sold, felled, or destroyed.
