As the masters of nearly all vessels equipped with wireless are regular correspondents of the Hydrographic Office, they are ready to co-operate in the work and furnish information, provided it can be made clear to them for whom it is intended.

The electrician in charge shall mail to the Hydrographic Office, Navy Department, Washington, D.C., copies of every message sent broadcast by direction of that office.
ARGENTINA.
PLATA RIVER.—GAVIOTA BANK.—LIGHT-BUOY CARRIED AWAY.—The German Government has given notice that Gaviota Bank light-buoy, Plata River, has been carried away.
It will probably not be replaced.
Approx. position: Lat. 35° 4′ S., long. 57° 11′ W.
CHILE.
MAGELLAN STRAIT.—TRITON BANK LIGHT-BUOY.—CHARACTERISTIC OF LIGHT.—Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 12 (722) of 1911, further notice is given that the light on Triton Bank light-buoy, Magellan Strait, is a flashing light every 5 seconds—thus, flash ½ second, eclipsed 4½ seconds.
Approx. position: Lat. 52° 37′ 30″ S., long. 69° 55′ 25″ W.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—RECLAMATION AT ST. GEORGE’S BAY.

NOTICE is hereby given that a stone groin, approximately 450 ft. from high-water mark of the centre of St. George’s Bay, is being made by the Auckland Harbour Board in connection with the reclamation at the eastern end of the bay. Boatmen and others are warned to be careful when navigating in the bay to give the groin a wide berth. A black triangular beacon will mark the outer end of the groin, and a white light will be exhibited on this beacon each night.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, David Buddo, Acting Minister of Lands, do hereby authorize the laying-off of Ralph Street and Newton Street, in the Town of Tyndall Extension No. 1, Hawke’s Bay Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Special Examination under the Land Transfer Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that a special examination as prescribed by the regulations issued under Order in Council of the 22nd day of May, 1911, as amended by Order in Council of the 27th day of June, 1911, will be held on Monday, the 19th day of March, 1912, at such places as shall hereafter be determined.
Candidates for the examination are required to give three months’ notice of their intention to sit for such examination.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the preservation of scenery. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Pipiriki, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking thereof, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Pakawau, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking thereof, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Mines, at Wellington.
