Resolution made by the Council of the County of Patea.

THE following resolution, made by the Patea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Patea County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorized to be raised by the Patea County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, for the purpose of metalling portions of the following roads—Ball Road (426 chains), Hursthouse Road (about 90 chains), Petch Road (20 chains), Hurley Road (15 chains), Makino Road (15 chains), and Wilford Road (20 chains), the said Patea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2/5 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the special-rating area hereinafter described; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The following is the special-rating area referred to in the foregoing resolution: Sections 408, 447, 440, part 624/5, Block II, Carlyle; 568/9, part 623/4, Block III, Carlyle; 462, 465, Blocks II and III, Carlyle; 8, Block VI, Opaku; 14, Blocks IX and V, Opaku; parts 623/4, Blocks III, Carlyle, and XIV, Opaku; 570/2, 597, 603/30, 433/4, Runs 1/8, Block XIII, Opaku; parts 624/5, 629, Runs 1/3, Blocks XIV, Opaku, and II, Carlyle; parts 624/5, Block XIV, Opaku; Taumaha 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 of Sections 351/60, 362, 385/403, 426/32, 435/9, 440/1, 10 of part 3, 590/602, Block XV, Hawera; 7/9 of part 3, Blocks XV and XIII, Hawera and Opaku; 1 of 3, part 6, 1 of 5, 1/10, Runs 11/13, Block IX, Opaku; Runs 3/5, 633, Block X, Opaku; part 625, 627, Blocks XIII and XIV, Opaku; Katawaki Reserve, Block VI, Opaku; Upokorari Reserve, Block X, Opaku; Alton Township, being Sections 393 and 395, Block XV, Hawera Survey District; Nos. 1 to 152, except Sections 6, 9, 11, 68/70.

The above is a true copy of special resolution passed on 11th April, 1911.

Resolution made by the Drury Road Board.

THE following resolution, made by the Drury Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

THE following resolution was passed by way of special order by the Drury Road Board at a special meeting held on 10th June, 1911:—

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Drury Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order: That the petition of the ratepayers of the Beach Road be granted, and that for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Drury Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for completing the construction and metalling of the Beach Road, the said Drury Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Beach Road Special-rating Area, comprising the properties facing the Beach Road, being parts of Sections 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Opaheke Survey District and Parish; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 27th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was advertised once in each week for four weeks; and was confirmed at a special meeting of the Drury Road Board held on 11th July, 1911.

I HEREBY give notice that the result of the poll of ratepayers of the City of Auckland taken at Auckland on Friday, the 14th day of July, 1911, on the proposal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland to raise a special loan of £225,000 for the purpose of the carrying-out of certain improvements to the streets of the City of Auckland by—

(a.) The permanent formation, improvement, and paving of the following streets in the said city—namely, Beaumont Street, Beach Road, Chancery Street, Commerce Street, Customs Street E., Customs Street W. (including retaining-wall), Darby Street, Durham Street W., Durham Lane, Elliott Street, Factory Road, Fort Street, Fort Street Lane, Gore Street, Grey Street, Hobson Street, High Street, Karangahape Road, Khyber Pass Road, Market Entrance, O’Connell Street, Park Road, Patteson Street, Pitt Street, Ponsonby Road, Quay Street, Queen Street, Little Queen Street, Symonds Street, Upper Symonds Street;

(b.) was as follows: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 1,079; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 309; majority for the proposal, 770.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.
