Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block II, Toetoes Survey District, Southland County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a road in Block II, Toetoes Survey District, Southland County :

And whereas the Southland County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities in me vested by the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

In the Southland Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Land taken for Street-widening Purposes in the Borough of Woolston.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, for street-widening in the Borough of Woolston :

And whereas an agreement has been entered into with the owners of the said land to take the said land for the purpose above mentioned :

And whereas the Woolston Borough Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, together with a map, in duplicate, as required by the Public Works Act, 1908 :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for street-widening purposes, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Woolston, as from the date hereinafter mentioned ; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Warrant authorizing Partition under the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of June, 1911.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of the Poukawa Native Reserves Act, 1903, certain lands described in the Schedule to such Act were vested in the Public Trustee and directed to be held and administered under the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892 : And whereas pursuant to such first-mentioned Act a certificate of title Volume 48, folio 268, in the name of the Public Trustee, was issued in respect of the said land comprising three thousand six hundred and eighty acres and fifteen perches, situate in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, being the land known as the Poukawa Native Reserve delineated on plan deposited as No. 1935 :

And whereas by orders of the Native Land Court made at Hastings on the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and two, the said land was partitioned in manner set out in such orders : And whereas it is desirable in the interests of the Native owners of Subdivisions 1, 2, and 7 of the said reserve so made by the Native Land Court that such subdivisions be further partitioned : And whereas by section sixteen of this said West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892, it is enacted that with respect to any lands subject to such last-mentioned Act that the Native Land Court shall not have any jurisdiction to partition any such lands unless the Governor shall by Warrant so authorize : And whereas the Public Trustee has requested the Governor in Council to issue such Warrant :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor in and for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Native Land Court to further partition the said Subdivisions 1, 2, and 7.
