Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eleven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Altitude, about 300 ft. above sea-level. About 160 acres of manuka and wiwi swamp; remainder fern and manuka country, mostly flat to easy undulating, rougher along Mangare Stream. Soil of light nature; fairly well watered. Situated about twenty-two miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station by Native wagon-track, or by road formed for wheeled traffic to within one mile of the section; remainder to be formed shortly.

About 200 acres flat land of a light nature, adjoining river, covered with burnt manuka; remainder undulating to hilly fern land, with steep faces to Mangare Stream and a rocky face next to surveyed road. Soil mostly of fair quality; well watered by river and good spring. Situated twenty-two miles from Te Awamutu by cart-road formed to within one mile of section, remainder to be formed shortly.

Soil of a light nature; well watered by swamp and small springs. Situated twenty-two miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station by Native wagon-track, or by cart-road formed to within one mile of section, balance to be formed shortly.

Altitude, about 400 ft. above sea-level. Easy and undulating to hilly country, covered with fern and manuka. Soil light to fair; well watered. Distant about twenty-four miles from Te Awamutu by road, the last few miles of which is at present unformed.

Altitude, about 350 ft. above sea-level. About 100 acres manuka swamp, 100 acres flat valley, balance undulating to hilly land covered with fern and manuka. Soil light to fair; watered by Mangare Stream and two springs. Distant nineteen miles from Te Awamutu by Native wagon-track, or twenty-five miles by road of which four miles is still unformed.
