rate of ½d. in the pound sterling upon the annual rate-
able value of all rateable property of the Borough of
Timaru, comprising the whole of the Borough of Timaru;
and this Council resolves that such special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of June and
the 31st day of December in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
years and six months, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Made and passed at an ordinary meeting of the Council
of the Borough of Timaru held on the 12th day of June,
1911; and sealed with the common seal of the Mayor,
Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Timaru in
the presence of—

Resolution made by the Council of the County of Manawatu.

THE following resolution, made by the Manawatu
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,
and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act,
1909, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as
follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of £1,250, authorized to be
raised by the Manawatu County Council, under the above-
mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing the Beach
Road, Foxton, the said loan to be for a period of thirty-six
years and a half, and that the interest to be paid is at the
rate of 3½ per centum per annum, the said Manawatu
County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
1/16 of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable
value of all rateable property in the Riding of Awahou,
Manawatu County; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is
fully paid off. First year’s interest to be paid out of loan.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly
passed at a special meeting of the Manawatu County
Council held on 6th June, 1911.

Resolution made by the Point Chevalier Road Board.

THE following resolution, made by the Point Chev-
alier Road Board, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
its amendment.

POINT CHEVALIER ROAD BOARD.
Resolution to borrow the Sum of £200, and striking Special Rate.
IN pursuance of the powers conferred on it by the Road
Boards Act, 1908, the Rating Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1908, and Amendment Act, 1910, and the New
Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Point
Chevalier Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
First, that the loan of £2,000 borrowed for the purpose
of a water-supply being insufficient for the purpose, the
Point Chevalier Road Board hereby resolves to borrow a
further sum of £200, being 10 per centum on the amount
already obtained; and declares that the cost of raising
the loan, together with the first year’s interest, be payable
out of the loan.
Second, that, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of £200, authorized to be
raised by the Point Chevalier Road Board, under the above-
mentioned Acts, the said Point Chevalier Road Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/44 of a penny
in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable pro-
perty in the Point Chevalier Road District; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on
the 31st day of August and the 28th day of February
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until
such loan is fully paid off.
The above resolutions were passed at a special meeting
of the Point Chevalier Road Board held at the Board’s
office on Wednesday, the 14th day of June, 1911.

County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
its amendments.

DANNEVIRKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Copy of a Resolution made by the Dannevirke County Council on the 3rd day of May, and confirmed on the 7th day of June, 1911.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’
Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and the New Zealand State-
guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and with the consent of
the ratepayers of the special-rating area in the County of
Dannevirke hereinafter described, testified by a petition
signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of
the said special-rating area, the capital values of whose
properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said
county is collectively greater than the capital values of the
properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the
Dannevirke County Council hereby resolves, by way of
special order, as follows: That, for the purpose of provid-
ing interest, sinking fund, and other charges, the Danne-
virke County Council hereby authorizes the raising of a
loan of £850 for completing the formation and metalling
of the main Norsewood—South Makaretu Road from Sec-
tion 32 of Block III, Norsewood Survey District, to the
Makaretu River; the forming of the Mahaurauuni Road;
the forming of the road from the main Norsewood—South
Makaretu Road to give access to Sections 4, 5, and 6 of
1L, Rakautatahi Block; and the forming of the road from
the main Norsewood—South Makaretu Road through Sec-
tions 1 and 2 of 2B No. 2, Rakautatahi Block, as far as
the open land; the said Dannevirke County Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon
the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Rakau-
tatahi Special-rating District, comprising Sections 5 of 1L,
6 of 1L, 4 of 1L, 3 of 1L, 2 of 5B, 1 of 5B, 38, 1K, 1J, 1 of 2B
No. 2, 2 of 2B No. 2, 3 of 2B No. 2, 4 of 2B No. 2, and 2B
No. 1, all of Block III, Norsewood Survey District: and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate dur-
ing the currency of the loan, and be payable on the 1st day
of July in each and every year during the currency of the
loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until
the loan is fully paid off. The interest to be paid on such
loan is £3 10s. per centum per annum, with the addition
of a sinking fund of £1 7s. 6d. per centum per annum;
the loan to be raised under Part IV of the New Zealand
State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and to be repayable
by seventy-three half-yearly payments of £2 8s. 9d. for
every £100 of such loan. It is proposed to pay out of the
loan the cost of raising such loan, and the interest and
sinking fund thereon for the first year.
And that such special order be submitted for confir-
mation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held
on the 7th day of June, 1911.
I, Frederick George Cowper, Chairman of the Danne-
virke County Council, hereby certify that the above is a
true copy of the resolution made by the Dannevirke County
Council on the 3rd day of May, and confirmed on the 7th
day of June, 1911.
