Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that, from and after the date of this Warrant, the control and maintenance of the said portions of streets shall be as provided for in an agreement made between the Auckland City Council and the Borough of Mount Eden—viz., the Auckland City Council and the Mount Eden Borough Council shall each construct, control, and maintain the portion of Mount Eden Road adjoining both districts situated on its own side of the tram-rails.
And I do hereby further direct that the Mount Eden Borough Council shall construct, control, and maintain the whole of that portion of Boston Road lying between Mount Eden Road and the production of a line being the eastern boundary of Normanby Road, and that the Auckland City Council shall construct, control, and maintain that portion of Boston Road from the aforesaid tram-rails, being the production of the eastern boundary of Normanby Road to the Epsom Road District boundary. the Mount Eden Borough Council to pay to the Auckland City Council the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds, which said sum of two hundred and fifty pounds shall be so paid within one week after the City Council shall have expended at least five hundred pounds on the portion of Boston Road that it has agreed to construct, control, and maintain (shown on Plan P.W.D. 27905, and thereon marked XX).

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street, known as Mount Eden Road, situate between the Borough of Mount Eden and the Auckland City, extending from its junction with Boston Road in a north-westerly direction to the boundary between Mount Eden Borough and Eden Terrace Road District, being a distance of 4½ chains, more or less.
Also all that portion of street, known as Boston Road, situated between the said borough and city, commencing at its junction with the Mount Eden Road, and running in a north-easterly direction to the western boundary of the Epsom Road District, being a distance of 26 chains, more or less.
As the said portions of streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 27905, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Warrant vesting Control of Portion of Richmond Road and Portion of the Great North Road in the Auckland City Council and Grey Lynn Borough Council, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance of the Same.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS by section twelve of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that where a road or street lies along the boundary of two or more districts, whether that road or street is wholly within one or is partly within one and is partly within another of those districts, or is within none of those districts, the Governor may from time to time, by Warrant under his hand gazetted, direct which of the local authorities of those districts shall have control of the road or street, or any part thereof, and may also in like manner determine from time to time whether any of those local authorities shall contribute to the cost of the construction or maintenance of that road or street, and, if so, in what proportions:
And whereas the portion of the street known as Richmond Road and the portion of the street known as the Great North Road, described in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter termed “the said portions of streets,” form part of the boundary between the Auckland City and the Borough of Grey Lynn:
And whereas a dispute has arisen as to which local authority should have control of the said portions of streets, and what proportion of the cost of maintaining the said portions of streets should be borne by the local authorities affected:
And whereas an inquiry was duly held, and a report was made, in respect to the matter:
And whereas it is expedient that effect should be given to the recommendations contained in the said report, and that provision should be made for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that, from and after the date of this Warrant, the control and maintenance of the said portions of streets shall be as provided for in an agreement made between the Auckland City Council and the Grey Lynn Borough Council—viz., the Auckland City Council and the Grey Lynn Borough Council shall each control and maintain the portion of the Great North Road between the boundary of its district and the tram-line; and, as regards the portion of Richmond Road, each body shall maintain the footpaths, kerbing, and channelling on its own side of such portion of Richmond Road, and the remaining part of such portion of Richmond Road shall be under the control of the Auckland City Council, which shall, out of its own funds, pay fifty per centum of the cost of construction and maintenance, and the Grey Lynn Borough Council shall, out of its funds, pay to the Auckland City Council fifty per centum of the cost of constructing and maintaining the said remaining part of the said portion of Richmond Road.
And I do also further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Grey Lynn Borough Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the Grey Lynn Borough Council, within a period of thirty days after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Auckland City Council, and that such payments shall be made from time to time to the Town Clerk, Auckland, for and on account of the Grey Lynn Borough Council.

Also all that portion of the street, known as the Great North Road, commencing at its junction with the Newton and Ponsonby Roads, and proceeding in a south-westerly direction to the boundary of the Auckland City and the Arch Hill Road District, being a distance of 10 chains, more or less.
As the said portions of streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 27905, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
