THE following resolution, made by the Akitio County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

AKITIO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Loan No. 4, £28,000.—Resolution making Special Rate for Repayment of Loan under Section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Akitio County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and annual charges on a loan of £28,000, authorized to be raised by the Akitio County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—

  1. Metalling the main Alfredton–Weber Road:

the said Akitio County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all the land included in the Akitio County Metalling, Bridging, Formation, Protection-works Special Rating Area comprised within the following boundaries—starting from the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Mataikona River; thence following the county boundary to the junction of the Mataikona and Makatote Streams; thence following the Makatote Stream to the southern corner of Section 8, Block XI, Aohanga Survey District; thence following the western boundary of Section 8 to Sugar Loaf Road, and along the said road in a westerly direction to the southern corner of Section 10, Block XI, Aohanga Survey District; thence along the south-western boundaries of Section 10, Block XI, Aohanga Survey District, Sections 28, 27, and 26, Block X, Aohanga Survey District, to northern corner of Section 29, Block X, Aohanga Survey District; thence along the north-western boundaries of Sections 29, 30, and 31, Block X, Aohanga Survey District, to King’s Road (closed road); thence along the north-eastern boundary of Section 19, Block X, Aohanga Survey District, and along north-western boundaries of Sections 19, 18, and 17, Block X, Aohanga Survey District, to southern corner of Section 13, Block X, Aohanga Survey District; thence along south-western boundary of said Section 13 to Waiowaka Road, and along said road to the county boundary; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 16 and 15, Block X, Aohanga Survey District; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 15, 12, 11, 6, 5, 1, Block X, Aohanga Survey District, 18, 17, and 16, Block VI, Aohanga Survey District, to southern corner of Section 20, Block V, Aohanga Survey District; thence along south-western boundary of said Section 20 to Waihoki Valley Road; thence along the said road in a northerly direction to the south corner of Section 11, Block V, Aohanga Survey District; thence along south-western boundary of said Section 11 to western corner; thence along south-eastern boundaries of Sections 25, 26, 27, and 28, Block V, Aohanga Survey District, to county boundary, and following the county boundary in a north-westerly and north-easterly direction to northern corner of Section 16, Block I, Mt. Cerberus Survey District (beyond the summit trig.); thence along north-eastern boundary of said Section 16 to North Range Road; thence along said road in a south-easterly direction to northern corner of Section 4, Block I, Mt. Cerberus; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of said Section 4 and Section 38, Block IV, Mt. Cerberus Survey District, to the Waihi Valley Road, and crossing said road along north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block V, Mt. Cerberus Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 4 to northern corner of Section 14, Block V, Mt. Cerberus Survey District; thence along the north-eastern boundary of said Section 14 to Waipatukaka Road, and crossing the said road along the north-eastern boundary of Section 22, Block V, Mt. Cerberus, to southern corner of Section 23; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, E.R. in Block V, Mt. Cerberus Survey District, and Section 11A, Block III, Mt. Cerberus Survey District, to Akitio Road, and crossing said road along south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block III, Mt. Cerberus; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 5, Block III, Mt. Cerberus, and along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 5 to county boundary, and following said county boundary in an easterly and southerly direction to point of commencement at mouth of Mataikona River; being all that land contained within the above-mentioned boundaries: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under the above-described Acts. The interest to be paid on such loan is £3 10s. per centum per annum, with the addition of a sinking fund of £1 7s. 6d. per centum per annum; the whole loan to be raised under Part IV of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and to be repayable by seventy-three half-yearly payments of £2 8s. 9d. for every £100 of such loan. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan, engineering-expenses, and interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at an ordinary meeting of the Akitio County Council held at the Council Chambers, Pongaroa, on the 3rd day of June, 1911.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN.

Waihou Bridge Special Rating District.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Waihou Bridge Special Rating District taken on the 25th day of May, 1911, on the proposal of the Ohinemuri County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of the erection and construction of a bridge across the Waihou River near the site of the present ferry joining the Paeroa–Netherton Road at the Puke, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 163, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
