AKITIO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Additional Ten Per Centum Loan of £800 on the £8,000 Loan commonly known as “The Roads Construction Main Roads Loan,” and now inscribed at £8,240 13s.

Resolution making special rate of 1/20 of a penny in the pound on the unimproved rateable value, for repayment of loan under section 70 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Akitio County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on an additional loan of £800 (in connection with the £8,000 Roads Construction Main Roads Loan), authorized to be raised by the Akitio County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the bridging and metalling of the main roads within the County of Akitio, the said Akitio County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/20 of a penny in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all the rateable property within the County of Akitio as appearing on the valuation roll; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of January and the 31st day of July in each and every year for a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under the said Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is £3 10s. per centum per annum.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at an ordinary meeting of the Akitio County Council held at Pongaroa on Saturday, the 29th day of April, 1911.

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Levin.

THE following resolution, made by the Levin Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

Levin Borough Council.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the said Levin Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the borough waterworks scheme, and for further extensions thereof, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/15 of a penny in the pound upon the capital rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of Levin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a legally constituted special meeting of the Levin Borough Council held this 8th day of May, 1911.

HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD.

Notice is hereby given that on the 2nd day of May, 1911, a poll was taken on the proposal of the Hokitika Harbour Board to raise a special loan of £25,000, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purpose of constructing extensions of the training-walls seawards and such other works as the Governor in Council may approve.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 533; against the proposal, 75; informal, 1.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

In pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1908, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 29th day of May, 1911:

PART IV.—GOODS : LOCAL RATES.

Cancel—

Goods FOR INVERCARGILL.

When goods of Classes A, B, C, D, and E are consigned to Invercargill the classified rates will be increased by Is. 2d. per ton, but such increase will not be made when goods are consigned to private sidings at that station or to the Invercargill Jetty.

BLUFF AND INVERCARGILL.

Goods of Classes A, B, C, and D, from s. d.
Bluff to Invercargill, not to private sidings 7 8 per ton.
Goods of Classes A, B, C, and D, from Bluff to Invercargill, to private sidings... 6 6 ,, Goods of Classes A, B, C, and D, from Invercargill to Bluff ... ... 6 6 ,, Ships’ goods will be charged according to bill of lading, or by weight or measurement, at option of Department, provided that the charges shall not be computed on more than twice the actual weight of any package. Other goods by weight or measurement, as the Department directs.
