A good section, with a northerly aspect. Has a good road along the northern frontage. Situated about two miles and a half from Ratanui Creamery and about half a mile from Catlin’s Railway-station.

Clutha County.—Woodland Survey District.

The bush on this section is heavy in places, and contains a large amount of heavy kamai. The surface is broken by a number of steep gullies. The road along the south boundary is formed. The nearest school is about two miles and a half distant.

Covered with heavy bush, a large proportion of which is kamai. The road along the southern boundary has been formed. There is a gully along the whole frontage parallel to the road. The school and post and telephone office are about two miles and three-quarters from the section.

The bush on this section is heavy. A large proportion is kamai, some of which is very heavy. There is not much rimu, and only an occasional matai-tree. A fair proportion, comprising chiefly fern-tree and fuchsia, could be easily cleared. The general aspect is northerly, and the soil is very fair. The road along the northern boundary has been formed, and adjacent to the road is a good building-site. The Catlin’s Railway line, now in course of construction, passes within a mile and a quarter of the section. A school and post and telephone office are about two miles distant.

Covered with heavy bush, a large proportion of which is heavy kamai. The land is rough, and broken by a number of gullies. The general aspect is easterly, and the soil is of fair quality. The road along the north-eastern boundary has been formed. The Catlin’s Railway will be a little more than two miles distant. There is a school and a post and telephone office about three miles distant.

The northern half of this section has a good aspect, and there is a fair quantity of rimu timber on it. The southern half has a southerly aspect, and the heavy timber on it is chiefly kamai. The road along the southern boundary has been formed, and that along the northern boundary has been felled, but the last mile or so has not been formed. The nearest school is about three miles distant.

This section has generally a north-easterly aspect. It contains a large proportion of fairly level land, and the soil is good. There is some good rimu timber on a ridge along the eastern side, and there is a large quantity of heavy kamai, and also some heavy birch timber. Many parts carry light bush that could be easily cleared. The road along the northern boundary has been formed, and there are suitable building-sites on this road. The nearest school is about two miles and a quarter away, and the nearest post and telephone office about the same distance away, and the nearest railway-station about three miles distant from the section.

Along the southern boundary is a quantity of heavy birch timber. The roads on the north-eastern and southern boundaries have been formed. Distant about a mile and a half from a school and a post and telephone office, and within easy reach of a proposed siding on the Catlin’s Railway.

Situated about a mile and a half from a school, about three miles from a dairy factory, and about three miles and a half from a post and telephone office. Section 1 contains some heavy kamai and birch trees, but the greater part could be easily cleared. The soil is fair, and the aspect north-easterly. Section 2 is a very fair section, with a formed road to the south-east corner. There are a few heavy kamai and rimu trees, but the greater part could be easily cleared. Section 3 is somewhat broken in places by steep gullies. It has a very fair soil. A fairly large proportionate part could be easily cleared.

This section lies on the point of a spur. The roads on the north and south-east sides have been formed. A large portion of the bush on the section has been burnt, and the area burnt has become overgrown with fuchsia, &c. The chief timber left is heavy kamai. The soil is of fair quality.

Some years ago a fire ran through and destroyed a large portion of the bush. The remaining bush contains a few heavy kamai and rimu trees, but the greater part could be easily cleared. The soil is good; and the general aspect north-easterly. Distant about three-quarters of a mile from a school and about two miles and a half from a dairy factory.
