Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Altitude, 200 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land; fern, manuka, and danthonia growing. Clay soil, on sandstone formation; fairly well watered by stream and swampy springs. Situated about three miles from Albany—two miles formed cart-road, balance unformed, but may be used for wheeled traffic.

Clay soil, on sandstone formation; fairly well watered by stream and swampy springs. Situated four miles and a half from Albany Post-office—two miles formed dray-road, remainder unformed, but presenting no serious obstacles to wheeled traffic.

Altitude, 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, fern and manuka growing upon it. Clay soil, on sandstone formation; fairly well watered by stream and swampy springs. Situated one mile and a half from Albany Post-office by formed cart-road.
ROTORUA COUNTY.—ROTORUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £2,357, valuation for improvements consisting of eight-roomed house, outbuildings, sheep-yards, sheep-dip, grassing, orchard, four concrete tanks, fencing, and hedges.
Altitude, 1,200 ft. to 1,300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; 186 acres in grass, 5 acres orchard, 50 acres fern and scrub, and 4 acres mixed forest comprising tawa, rata, rimu, &c., with thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil of fair quality, of a sandy nature, on pumice formation. Water-supply is obtained from four concrete tanks. Situated on the Otorua Road, nine miles from Rotorua by good road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Open land, with a light soil on a clay subsoil, lying on a series of dry ridges. Situated about a mile from Waitahuna Railway-station.

Bruce County.—Clarendon Survey District.

Rough, broken, bush land; soil light; well watered. Situated about eight miles from Waihola Railway-station, and about three miles from the Town of Hull, at the mouth of the Taieri River, where there is a school and a post-office.

Weighted with £150 6s. 6d., valuation for improvements consisting of clearing and fencing.
Bush land of fair quality. About half the area has a westerly aspect. Ridgy land, but not very steep or broken. Situated about a mile and a half from Owaka Railway-station.

A rough bush section, with fair soil; somewhat steep on the ridge-faces, but well suited for grazing purposes. Timber comprises rata, kamai, red-pine, black-pine, broad-leaf, fuchsia, &c. Situated about three miles and a half from Hunt’s Road Railway-station on a very fair road, and about a mile from Katea school and post-office.
