Notice fixing Closing-hours of certain Shops in the Borough
of Taumarunui under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the news-agents’
and fancy-goods dealers’, tobacconists’ and hairdressers’,
and jewellers’ shops in the Borough of Taumarunui has
been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the
borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as
follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, at
9 o’clock p.m.; Wednesday, 1 o’clock p.m.; and Saturday,
10 o’clock p.m.: And whereas the Taumarunui Borough
Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition
represent a majority of the occupiers of all the news-
agents’, jewellers’, tobacconists’ and hairdressers’, and
fancy-goods dealers’ shops, combined and separately, with-
in the Borough of Taumarunui:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 1st
day of May, 1911, all such shops in the Borough of Tau-
marunui shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The varied notice gazetted on the 20th day of May, 1909,
fixing the closing-hours of tobacconists’ and hairdressers’
shops in the County of Waitomo, is hereby further varied
in terms of this requisition in so far as it relates to the
Borough of Taumarunui.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Grocers’ and Ironmongers’
Shops in the Borough of Taumarunui under the Shops
and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ and
ironmongers’ shops in the Borough of Taumarunui has
been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the
borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as
follows: Four days at 6 o’clock p.m., one day at 1 p.m.,
one day at 9 p.m.: And whereas the Taumarunui Borough
Council has certified that the signatures to such requisi-
tion represent a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’
and ironmongers’ shops, combined and separately, within
the Borough of Taumarunui:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 1st
day of May, 1911, all grocers’ and ironmongers’ shops,
combined and separately, in the Borough of Taumarunui
shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Varied Notice (No. 2) fixing Closing-hours of Butchers’
Shops in the City of Wellington under the Shops and
Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all butchers’ shops
in the City of Wellington, has been forwarded to me,
desiring that all such shops in the city shall be closed in
the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tues-
days, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 5 p.m.; Wednesday,
1 p.m.; Saturday, 7 p.m.: And whereas the Wellington
City Council has certified that the signatures to such requi-
sition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the retail
butchers’ shops within the City of Wellington:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 1st
day of May, 1911, all butchers’ shops in the City of Wel-
ington shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notices gazetted the 5th April, 1906, and 18th July,
1907, fixing the closing-hours of all such shops in the city,
are hereby varied accordingly.

Dated at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1911.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of certain Shops in the Mac-
kenzie County under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the shops, except
fruit and fish shops, in the Mackenzie County, has been
forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the county
shall be closed in the evening of every working-day as
follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, at
6 o’clock; and Thursday, 1 o’clock; Saturday, at 9 o’clock:
And whereas the Mackenzie County Council has certified
that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority
of the occupiers of all the shops, except fruit and fish
shops, in the Mackenzie County:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 1st
day of May, 1911, all shops, excepting fruit and fish shops,
in the Mackenzie County shall be closed in accordance
with such requisition.

Dated at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1911.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Rotoma Survey
District, for the Purpose of Preservation of Scenery.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908,
the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, and the
Public Works Act, 1908, to take the land described in the
Schedule hereto for the preservation of scenery. And
notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
Rotoiti, and is there open for inspection; and that all
persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if
they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of
this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
