Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of a Road in Block V, Omara Survey District, Waitotara County.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of the Public Works Act, 1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 28th day of January, 1910.

Bonus for the Production of Quicksilver.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 14th February, 1910.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of fourpence (4d.) per pound will be paid on the production of the first one hundred thousand pounds weight (100,000 lb.) of good marketable retorted quicksilver, free from all impurities, from any mine in New Zealand, on the following conditions, that is to say:—

  1. That at least one-third of the quantity is produced on or before the 31st March, 1911, and the remaining two-thirds on or before the 31st March, 1912.

  2. No bonus will be payable until the whole of the one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced as stipulated to the satisfaction of an officer to be appointed by the Minister of Mines, and on whose certificate alone the bonus will be paid.

  3. In the event of more than one person producing the required quantities of quicksilver before the dates named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided in proportion to the quantities produced by each applicant, but in no case shall any bonus be paid until at least one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced in the aggregate.

Exemption of Slaughterhouse used in connection with the Curing of Bacon and Hams.—Notice No. 1496.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor has exempted from the operation of section 17 (1) of the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, the slaughterhouse situated on Section No. 1, Lot 14, part Matawhero No. 1 Block, Poverty Bay, and used by Mr. W. D. Lysnar in connection with the curing of bacon and hams.

The Establishment of a District Branch Office of the Public Trustee at Hawera.

IT is hereby notified for general information that in lieu of the agency of the Public Trust Office at Hawera, under the control of Mr. C. A. Budge, as agent, a branch of that office has been established there under the control of Mr. Solomon David Zachariah as District Manager.

Mr. Zachariah will manage both the Hawera and New Plymouth branches of the Public Trust Office.
