IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, David Buddo, Acting Minister of Lands, do hereby authorize the laying-off of Todd Street, in the Town of Newburgh Extension No. 2, Otago Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, David Buddo, Acting Minister of Lands, do hereby authorize the laying-off of New Street, in the Town of Frankton Extension No. 1, Subdivision No. 1, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Appointing Districts for collecting Duty under the Beer Duty Act, 1908.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the power vested in me for this purpose by the Beer Duty Act, 1908, I, Roderick McKenzie, the Minister of Customs, do hereby appoint the following districts for the purpose of levying and collecting the duty imposed by the said Act—viz., Auckland, Poverty Bay, Napier, Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Blenheim, Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Christchurch, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill, which several districts shall respectively comprise the counties set opposite to the name of each district in the Schedule hereto, including all boroughs and town districts now constituted or which may from time to time be constituted within the boundaries of those counties, or which are bounded by those counties, or are between those counties or any part thereof and the sea, and shall also include any new county hereafter created within the limits of any such district.

And I do hereby appoint the Collector or principal officer of Customs at the ports or places with the same names as the districts named in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Collectors for those respective districts; and I do further appoint the Customhouses at the said ports or places to be the places in the said several districts at which the duties leviable under the said Act shall be paid, received, and collected.

All existing orders appointing districts for the purpose of levying and collecting duty under the Beer Duty Act, 1908, are hereby revoked.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block X, Waipakura Survey District, for Scenery-preservation Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenery-preservation purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Makirikiri, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days after the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
