Notice fixing Closing-hours of Hairdressers' and Tobacconists' Shops in the Borough of Mataura under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops carrying on business as hairdressers and tobacconists in the Borough of Mataura has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at the hour of 8 o'clock on every working-day except Saturday, when the same shall be closed at 10 o'clock, and except on the weekly half-holiday, when the same will be closed at 1 o'clock in the afternoon : And whereas the Mataura Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all shops carrying on business as hairdressers and tobacconists within the Borough of Mataura :

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of April, 1911, all hairdressers' and tobacconists' shops in the Borough of Mataura shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Chemists' and Druggists' Shops in the Borough of Waihi under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists' and druggists' shops in the Borough of Waihi has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed as follows : Every evening, Saturdays excepted, at the hour of 8 o'clock, except during the weeks in which Christmas and New Year's Day are observed, when the hour of closing shall be not later than 10 o'clock ; and on Saturdays at 9.30 p.m. : And whereas the Waihi Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represents a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists' and druggists' shops within the Borough of Waihi :

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of April, 1911, all chemists' and druggists' shops in the Borough of Waihi shall be closed in accordance with such requisition, excepting that on Thursday (the statutory half-holiday) all such shops shall be closed at 1 p.m., and may reopen from 7 till 8 o'clock only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers' and Clothiers' Shops in the Borough of Tauranga under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Borough of Tauranga wherein is carried on the trade of a seller of drapery and clothing, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 6 p.m. ; Thursday, 1 p.m. ; Saturday, 9.30 p.m. : And whereas the Tauranga Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops wherein is carried on the trade of a seller of drapery and clothing within the Borough of Tauranga :

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of April, 1911, all shops wherein is carried on the trade of a seller of drapery and clothing in the Borough of Tauranga shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Cycle-dealers' Shops in the Borough of Timaru under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops wherein is carried on the trade of a seller of cycles and cycle-accessories in the Borough of Timaru has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : At the hour of 6 o'clock p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of each week ; and at 9.30 p.m. on every Saturday : And whereas the Timaru Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops wherein is carried on the trade of a seller of cycles and cycle-accessories in the Borough of Timaru :

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of April, 1911, all such shops in the Borough of Timaru shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

(The statutory half-holiday is on Thursdays, from 1 p.m.)

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Booksellers', Stationers', and Fancy-goods Dealers' Shops in the Reefton Riding of the Inangahua County under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops carrying on business in the Reefton Riding as booksellers, stationers, and fancy-goods dealers has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the riding shall be closed in the evening of every working-day as follows : Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8.30 p.m. ; Wednesday, at 1 p.m. ; Saturday, at 10 p.m. ; with the following exceptions : Christmas Eve, at 11 p.m. ; 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, and 31st December, at 9 p.m. : And whereas the Inangahua County Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the booksellers', stationers', and fancy-goods dealers' shops in the Reefton Riding of the Inangahua County :

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of April, 1911, all such shops in the Reefton Riding of the Inangahua County shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Notifying Land in the Canterbury Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

Office of Board of Land Purchase Commissioners, Wellington, 8th April, 1911.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Drayton Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 1st April, 1911.

SCHEDULE.

DRAYTON SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 968 acres and 2 perches, situate in Blocks XII and XVI, Rolleston Survey District, and IX and XIII, Christchurch Survey District, being Rural Sections numbered 3204, 4026, 4055, 4110, 4353, 4364, 4842, 4910, 4911, 4932, 6099, 6100, 6101, and 10917, and parts of Rural Sections 4886, 5721, and 37056, being the whole of the land comprised in certificates of title 159/247, 251, 179/203, 183/201, 202, 249/242, and part of 164/186, District Land Registry Office, Christchurch ; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19416, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
