BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.
Resolution making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £65,000, authorized to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for—
(1.) To provide the Borough of Blenheim with waterworks and water-supply (including reticulation, acquisition of land, and, if necessary, removal and re-erection of fire-brigade buildings and plant) … … … 28,500
(2.) To provide the Borough of Blenheim with sewage drainage (including acquisition of land, if necessary) … … … 36,500
the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held on Friday, the 7th day of April, 1911.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1909, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Blenheim was taken on the 6th day of April, 1911, on the proposal of the Blenheim Borough Council to borrow the sum of £65,000 for the purposes of—
(1.) To provide the Borough of Blenheim with waterworks and water-supply (including reticulation, acquisition of land, and, if necessary, removal and re-erection of fire-brigade buildings and plant) … … … 28,500

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 526. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 390. Informal votes, 19.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, 1909 and 1910, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Otane Town District taken on Wednesday, the 5th day of April, 1911, on the proposal of the Otane Town Board to borrow the sum of £300 for the purchase of about 8 acres of land for a recreation reserve for the Otane Town District, the number of votes received for the proposal was 52; the number of votes received against the proposal, 8; majority for the proposal, 44; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

ISLAND POINT LIGHTHOUSE, PORT DOUGLAS.
NOTICE is hereby given that the lighthouse on Island Point, Port Douglas, has been destroyed by a cyclone, and the light apparatus damaged. Pending the re-erection of the lighthouse, a temporary white light will be exhibited in the position of the former red light.

MASTERS of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby informed that No. 0 green beacon, Port Adelaide River, has been removed, and that the same position is now marked by a buoy, painted black, from which a green light is exhibited from sunset to sunrise.
This affects Admiralty Charts 2389A and 1752.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—EXPLOSIVES ANCHORAGE FOR VESSELS.

Wellington, N.Z., 10th April, 1911.
THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that on and after Monday, 24th April, 1911, the explosives anchorage will be moved to a position south of Motutapu. The boundaries of the anchorage to be as follows: From west point of Motukorea to Rangitoto shore N. 3° W., thence by a line N. 72° E. to the south point of Motutapu, thence by a line S. 55° E. to the south point of Motuihi, thence by a line S. 40° W. to East Tamaki Point. All bearings magnetic.
