A Special Order made by the Masterton Borough Council at a Special Meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 14th Day of February, 1911, and confirmed at a subsequent Special Meeting held on the 15th Day of March, 1911.
RESOLVED, That the Masterton Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, and the Rating Act, 1908, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, hereby resolves by special order: That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the special loan of £4,000 called the Abattoir Loan, 1910, authorized to be raised, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying off a special loan of £4,000 heretofore lawfully raised, the Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of and within the administrative area of the Borough of Masterton; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of June and the 31st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Council of the Borough of Masterton was hereunto affixed pursuant to a resolution to that effect dated the 15th day of March, 1911, in the presence of—

Resolutions made by the Council of the County of Waitomo.

THE following resolutions, made by the Waitomo County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

RESOLUTION NO. 1.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Mairoa Special Rating District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said special rating district, the capital value of whose properties as appearing on the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital values of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of metalling certain roads in the said Mairoa Special Rating District, the Waitomo County Council hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £16,800 (of which the sum of £10,500 is to be expended on the Te Kumi-Arapae Road, £2,400 on the Mairoa Road, £270 on the Hauturu Road, £1,900 on the Ngapenga Road, £540 on the Pungarehu Road, £145 on the Pukearuhe Road, £145 on the Waipapa Road, and £900 on the Te Kuiti-Te Kumi Road), the rate of interest to be £3 10s. per centum per annum, and the sinking fund at the rate of £1 7s. 6d. per centum per annum. Such loan to be repayable by seventy-three half-yearly payments of £2 8s. 9d. for each £100 of the loan, and declares that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised.
RESOLUTION NO. 2.
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £16,800, authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the amendments thereto, for the purposes of metalling certain roads in the Mairoa Special Rating District (£10,500 of this amount to be expended on the Te Kumi-Arapae Road, £2,400 on the Mairoa Road, £270 on the Hauturu Road, £1,900 on the Ngapenga Road, £540 on the Punarehu Road, £145 on the Pukearuhe Road, £145 on the Waipapa Road, and £900 on the Te Kumi-Te Kuiti Road), the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4⅛d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable properties in the Mairoa Special Rating District. The boundaries of the special rating district are as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Te Kumi No. 7m, bounded on the north generally by Piha Block, Pehitawa Block No. 2, Hauturu East No. 1e, Sections 4a and 1 of Block XIV, Orahiri Survey District; Sections 6, 7, and 1a, Hapenui No. 1b, Blocks 13 and 14, Orahiri Survey District; Section 5, Block XVI, Kawhia South Survey District; thence along a road to Small Grazing-run No. 26; thence by Small Grazing-run No. 26, Kinohaku West No. 3b, again by Small Grazing-run No. 26; thence along the county boundary to the Mangarere Stream; thence on the west by the western boundaries of Sections 3 and 1, Block IV, Maungamangero Survey District, and by the western boundary of Section 8, Block VIII, of the Maungamangero Survey District; thence by the western and southern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, and 1 of Block VIII, Maungamangero Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of Section No. 3d, Arapae Block; thence by the western and northern boundaries of No. 16, Pakeho; thence by the western and northern boundaries of Sections 15 and 20, Pakeho Block; thence by the northern boundary of Section 3, Block VI, Otanake Survey District; thence by the western boundary of Section 2, Block VI, Otanake Survey District; thence by the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 15 of Block VI, Otanake Survey District; thence by the eastern boundaries of Sections 16, 3, and 2 of Block VI, Otanake Survey District; thence by the eastern boundaries of Pukearuhe No. 3d; thence by the southern and eastern boundaries of the Tapuiwahine Block; thence by the southern boundary of Te Kumi No. 3; thence along the Te Kuiti Borough boundary to the railway-line; and thence along the railway-line in a northerly direction to the commencing-point. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be paid half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half; the rate of interest to be £3 10s. per centum per annum, and the sinking fund at the rate of £1 7s. 6d. per centum per annum. Such loan to be repayable by seventy-three half-yearly payments of £2 8s. 9d. for each £100 of the loan; and it is the intention to pay out of the loan the cost of raising same and the first year’s interest.
The above resolutions were duly passed at a meeting of the Waitomo County Council held at the Council Chambers, Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, on the 20th day of February, 1911.

Resolution levying Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Okato Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Okato Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of (1) subsidizing Government grant of £200 in building a bridge and its approaches over the Mangatete Stream on the Saunders Road, (2) the costs of raising the loan and the first year’s instalments thereon, (3) in payment of the costs of engineering and supervising the whole work or works, balance of moneys (if any) after completion of the works and costs aforesaid to be spent in forming and metalling part or parts of the Saunders Road from the proposed bridge towards the Carrington
