Road, the said Okato Road Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rate-
able value of all rateable property of the Saunders Road
Special Rating Area, comprising parts of Sections 75, 86,
91, Block VI, and parts of Sections 95, 100, 101, 105, 13,
14, Block X (not included in the Upper Oxford Special
Rating Area), Sections 81, Block VI, 85, 90, 94, 99, 17, 16,
Block X, Sections 9, 12, 13, Block XI, Cape Survey Dis-
trict; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully
paid off.
It is hereby certified that the above resolution was duly
adopted and passed at a special meeting of the Okato Road
Board held on Thursday, 30th March, 1911.

OKATO ROAD BOARD.
Resolution levying Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its
amendments, the Okato Road Board hereby resolves as
follows: That, for the purpose of providing the prin-
cipal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £50 (being
10 per cent. of the original loan of £500), authorized to
be raised by the Okato Road Board, under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending metalling on
the Upper Oxford Road, and the costs of raising the loan,
the said Okato Road Board hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 1/9 of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the Upper Oxford
Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 6, 7, 8, 10, and
11, Block XI, Section 12, Block X, Sections 76, 77, 82, 87,
92, 96, 102, and 106, Block VI, and the north-eastern half
abutting on the Oxford Road of Sections 75, 86, and 91
of Block VI, and of Sections 13, 14, 95, 100, 101, and 105
of Block X, all Cape Survey District; and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st
day of April in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half,
or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly adopted and passed at a
special meeting of the Okato Road Board held on Thurs-
day, the 30th day of March, 1911, and the common seal of
the Board was hereto affixed in the presence of—

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
Borough of Temuka, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF TEMUKA.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,
the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the New Zealand
State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the several
Acts amending the same respectively.

I, THOMAS BUXTON, Mayor of the Borough of Temuka,
hereby give notice that at a poll taken on the 23rd day of
March instant, on the proposal of the Council of the said
borough to raise a special loan of £14,000 for the purpose
of establishing a gravitation high-pressure water-supply for
the borough, the following votes were recorded: For the
proposal, 165; against the proposal, 92; informal, 9.
And I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following is the result of the poll held on Tuesday,
28th March, 1911, on the proposal to raise a loan of
£26,683 for borough improvements: For the proposal, 73;
against the proposal, 23; majority for, 50.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

TARADALE TOWN BOARD.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
its amendments.

WE, William Henry Campden Howard, Chairman of
the Taradale Town Board, and William Cox,
Returning Officer for the Taradale Town District, hereby
give notice that on the 29th day of March, 1911, a poll
of the ratepayers in the Taradale Town District was duly
held and taken on the proposal of the Taradale Town
Board to raise a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of
erecting and furnishing a building or buildings, compris-
ing all or any of the following—namely, town hall, public
reading-room, library, and Town Board’s offices, with such
offices or conveniences as are usual or proper to the fore-
going.
At such poll the number of votes recorded was as fol-
lows: For the proposal, 148; against the proposal, 8;
majority for the proposal, 140; informal, 1.
Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.
Dated the 31st day of March, 1911.

Marine Board, Port Adelaide, South Australia, are
published for general information.

WEST COAST.

Streaky Bay.—Crawford’s Spit.

A PILE beacon, black, with diamond-shaped head, has been
placed on the western extremity of Crawford’s Spit in 5 ft.
at L.W.S. Approximate position: Lat. 32° 46½′ S., long.
134° 13½′ E.

Coffin’s Bay.

The black and red buoys which marked the entrance to
the channel into Coffin’s Bay have been removed, and the
channel is now marked by four red beacons with circular
heads, to be kept on the starboard hand when entering;
and one black beacon with diamond-shaped head, to be
kept on the port hand when entering.
The outer red beacon shows about 26 ft. above high
water, and the others about 10 ft. above high water.
CAUTION.—The shoals and soundings in this bay are
liable to change, and the beacons must not be approached
too closely.
