trict as defined by the Town Boards Act, 1908; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, and the rate of interest to be paid to cover both interest and redemption not to exceed £5 per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off; and it is the intention to pay out of loan cost of raising same and the first year’s interest.

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Ngaruawahia Town Board held at Ngaruawahia on the 14th day of March, 1911.

The common seal of the Chairman, Commissioners, and Inhabitants of the Ngaruawahia Town District has hereunto been affixed, this 14th day of March, 1911, in the presence of—

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of New Plymouth.

THE following resolution, made by the New Plymouth Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Passed by the New Plymouth Borough Council on the 13th March, 1911.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, the New Plymouth Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £11,225, authorized to be raised by the New Plymouth Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the improvement of the streets (by formation and metalling) and the extension of the sewers, the said New Plymouth Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2¾d. in the pound upon the rateable (annual) value of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of New Plymouth; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of December and the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Morrinsville Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

MORRINSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

PROPOSAL to raise a special loan of £2,100 for the following purposes, namely:—

  1. The sum of £1,100 for the construction and extension of storm-water drainage-works in the Morrinsville Town District.

  2. The sum of £100 for the institution and equipment of a nightsoil service in the said district.

  3. The sum of £350 for the purchase and improvement of a recreation reserve.

  4. The sum of £550 for the improvement of roads, streets, and footpaths in the said district.

And to make an annually recurring special rate of 2d. in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Morrinsville Town District as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection with such loan. The amount payable in respect of such loan for interest and sinking fund is at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum, and the loan is for a period of thirty-six years and a half from the raising of the loan, at the expiration of which period the liability of the Morrinsville Town Board will cease without further payment. It is proposed to pay out of the loan-moneys the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest of the loan during the construction of the said works.

At a poll of the ratepayers of the Morrinsville Town District taken on the above proposal on the 6th day of March, 1911, the votes recorded were as follows: For the first proposal, 7; against, 0. For the second proposal, 6; against, 1. For the third proposal, 7; against, 0. For the fourth proposal, 6; against, 1.

I, Stephen Shepherd Allen, Chairman of the Morrinsville Town Board, hereby declare the above proposal carried.

OPOTIKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Opotiki was taken on the 2nd day of March, 1911, on the proposal of the Opotiki County Council to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purpose of constructing a bridge and approaches thereto over the Otara River.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 64. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Westport was taken on the 13th day of March, 1911, on the proposal of the Westport Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of constructing municipal swimming-baths.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 336. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 176.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
