FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Foxton taken on the 15th day of March, 1911, on the proposal of the Foxton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £2,800 for the erection and furnishing of the Coronation Town Hall, Foxton, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 198, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 43, and informal 4. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice appointing First Meeting of Contributors to the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 92 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, I, George Fowlds, Minister in charge of the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint that the first meeting of the contributors to the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home shall be held on Tuesday, the 11th day of April, 1911, at the Athenæum Hall, Napier, at 3 p.m.

As witness my hand, this sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Water taken from a Stream at Waitati for the Purposes of the Waitaki–Bluff Railway.

A NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS by subsection (1) of section 13 of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Minister of Public Works may from time to time impound, divert, and take away any water from any stream or running water, or may purchase or acquire any right or interest therein for the purpose, inter alia, of supplying water for the use of any railway:

And whereas it is desirable to impound, divert, and take away from a stream running through the section numbered 1 of 19, Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin District, as much water as will flow through a pipe 2 in. in diameter for the purpose of supplying water for the use of the Waitaki–Bluff Railway:

Now, therefore, I, the Honourable Roderick McKenzie, Minister of Public Works for the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby notify and declare that so much of the waters of the stream which flows through the said section numbered 1 of 19, in Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin District, in the Provincial District of Otago, and Dominion of New Zealand, as will flow through and can be diverted by means of a line of pipes having a diameter of 2 in. inserted in the said stream within the said section, is hereby taken for the purposes of the Waitaki–Bluff Railway.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by the Castlepoint and Waimarino County Councils.—Notice No. 1489.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned local authorities have by special order declared the plants enumerated opposite each to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the districts under the jurisdiction of each respectively:—
