THE following special order, made by the Palmerston North Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Borough Council of the Borough of Palmerston North hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorized to be raised by the Borough Council of the Borough of Palmerston North, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing and fixing mechanical filters to the borough water-supply, the said Borough Council of the Borough of Palmerston North hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/13 of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North (on the basis of the unimproved value), comprising the district bounded towards the north-east by a straight line, being the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 389 and 420, and a straight line joining the said north-eastern boundaries, 12550 links; towards the east and south-east by the Manawatu River, 36400 links, and Section No. 371; 177 links; towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 371, 372, 373, and 374, 6250 links, and by Section No. 370, 3000 links, and by Section No. 350 and across a public road, 8200 links; and towards the north-west by a public road, being the north-western boundary of Section No. 558, 177 links, and by a public road, 27300 links: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period until the 1st day of October, 1917, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council held on the 7th day of February, 1911, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 7th day of March, 1911.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £590, authorized to be raised by the Stratford County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of defraying the cost of draining the New Kopua Drainage District, the Stratford County Council,

under the provisions of the River Boards Act, 1908, hereby makes and levies graduated rates upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the New Kopua Drainage Special Rating District, as follows—a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rateable value of Lot 3 of parts Subdivisions 1, 3, 5, Lot 5 of parts Subdivisions 6, 8, 9, and Lot 8 of parts Subdivisions 9, 11, Toko A and B Block; and a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of part Subdivision 13 (276 acres 1 rood 38 perches), Lot 4 of parts Subdivisions 5, 8, and Lot 6 of parts Subdivisions 9, 11, Toko A and B Block: and that such rates shall be annual-recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The resolution instituting the above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Stratford County Council held on the 15th day of February, 1911, and confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 15th day of March, 1911.

Resolution made by the Okotuku Road Board.

THE following resolution, made by the Okotuku Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereof, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf so to do, the Okotuku Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £56, being £10 per centum of the amount of the original loan of £560 authorized to be raised by the Okotuku Road Board, in conjunction with the Wairoa and Motoroa Road Boards and Patea County Council, for the purpose of completing the gap between the Mangitangi and Okotuku Roads by acquiring the land necessary for such purpose, fencing, and forming a road and rendering same fit for traffic, the said Okotuku Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3/80 of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Okotuku Road Special Rating District, comprising all those sections and parts of sections of land bounded on the north by boundary between Wellington and Taranaki Land Districts, on the west by the Kohi Stream, on the south by the Mangapouta Stream, and on the east by Okotuku Road, as per schedule hereunder:—

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a special meeting of the Okotuku Road Board on the 10th day of March, 1911.
