minion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Halswell as constituted by the said Acts into three ridings, to be called the No. 1 Riding, the No. 2 Riding, and the No. 3 Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
And I do hereby declare that two members shall be elected for each of the aforesaid ridings. And I do further declare that Thursday, the twentieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Halswell shall take place; and that Saturday, the twenty-second day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at three o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the Halswell Road Board Office, at Spreydon, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.
S C H E D U L E.
No. 1 Riding.
All that area in Halswell County bounded towards the north-east by Waimairi County from Middle Lincoln Road to Lower Lincoln Road; thence towards the south-east by Lower Lincoln Road to Henderson’s Road; thence again towards the north-east by Henderson’s Road to Rural Section No. 5809, and the production of the south-western side of that road to the Plantation and Road Reserve; thence across and by that reserve to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section No. 5753; thence towards the south-east by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of that section, and by Hoon-Hay Road to Quarry Road; thence by Quarry Road to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section No. 1350, and by a closed road forming the north-western boundary of Rural Section No. 6359 and its production to the middle of the Halswell River; and thence towards the west and north-west generally by Paparua County as described in the Second Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, and Middle Lincoln Road to the place of commencement.
No. 2 Riding.
All that area in Halswell County bounded towards the north-east generally by the Borough of Spreydon as described in the Seventh Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, from Lower Lincoln Road to the north-western corner of Heathcote County as described in the Third Schedule to the aforesaid Act; thence towards the east by the said Heathcote County to its south-western corner; thence by Mount Herbert County as described in the Schedule to the Mount Herbert County Act, 1902, to Rural Section No. 565 in Block III, Halswell Survey District; thence towards the south by that section and Rural Section No. 33748 to Burke’s Bush Road North; thence by that road to the Halswell River at the southern corner of Rural Section No. 8100; thence towards the west by Paparua County as described in the Second Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, to the southern corner of No. 1 Riding hereinbefore described; and thence towards the north-west generally by the said No. 1 Riding to the place of commencement.
No. 3 Riding.
All that area in Halswell County bounded towards the north generally by No. 2 Riding hereinbefore described, from the Halswell River to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section No. 565; thence towards the east by Mount Herbert County as described in the Schedule to the Mount Herbert County Act, 1902, and Wairewa County as described in the First Schedule to the Wairewa County Act, 1909, to the Halswell River at the southern corner of Rural Section No. 1069 in Block X, Halswell Survey District; thence towards the south-west by Springs County as described in the Fifth Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, to Ellesmere Junction Road; and thence towards the north-west generally by the Paparua County as described in the Second Schedule to the last-mentioned Act to the place of commencement.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a Proclamation dated fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, page 595, on the seventeenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, taking lands for a road and closing a road in Blocks IV, Halswell, XVI, Christchurch, II, Sumner, and I, Pigeon Bay Survey Districts, in the Land District of Canterbury.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners of the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Heathcote Road Board, the Sumner Borough Council, and the Lyttelton Borough Council, being the local authorities in whose districts the said lands are situated, proclaim as a road the lands described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
