represent a majority of the occupiers of all the jewellers’
shops within the Borough of Napier :
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and
Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after
the 20th day of March, 1911, all jewellers’ shops in the
Borough of Napier shall be closed in accordance with such
requisition.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of all Shops in the Borough
of Brunnerton under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the
Borough of Brunnerton, has been forwarded to me,
desiring that all shops in the borough shall be closed in
the evening of working-days as follows : Monday, Tues-
day, Thursday, and Friday, at 6 p.m. ; Wednesday, at
1 p.m. ; Saturday, at 9 p.m. : And whereas the Brunnerton Borough Council has certified that the signatures to
such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of
all the shops within the Borough of Brunnerton :
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of
Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and
Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that from and after
the 20th day of March, 1911, all shops in the Borough of
Brunnerton shall be closed in accordance with such requisi-
tion.

Native Land subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909, consenting to an Alienation by the Native Owners notwithstanding Restrictions.
WHEREAS by section 298 it is enacted that Native
land subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act,
1909, shall, while so subject, be inalienable by the owners,
whether to the Crown or to any other person, except,
inter alia, with the consent of the Native Minister granted
on the recommendation of the Maori Land Board, but
subject to the same restrictions and to the same require-
ments as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was
not subject to Part XVI of the said Act :
And whereas a parcel of land known as Rakautatahi
No. 1b1 Block is subject to the said Part of the said Act :
And whereas the owners thereof are desirous of leasing the
said land :
And whereas the Ikaroa District Maori Land Board
after due inquiry recommends that the consent of the
Native Minister be granted accordingly :
Now, therefore, I, James Carroll, Native Minister, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me
by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act,
1909, do hereby consent to the leasing of the said land by
the owners thereof, subject to the same restrictions and
to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise
as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native
Land Act, 1909.
As witness my hand, this tenth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and eleven.

pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me
by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act,
1909, do hereby consent to the sale of the said land by the
owner thereof, subject to the same restrictions and to the
same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if
the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land
Act, 1909.
As witness my hand, this fourteenth day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block X, Hunua Survey District, Taupo West County, for the Preservation of Scenery.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the
Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preserva-
tion Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in
the Schedule hereto for the preservation of scenery. And
notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
Taumarunui, and is there open for inspection; and that all
persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if
they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days after the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
