New Plymouth Borough Council’s Abattoir made available for the Purposes of St. Aubyn Town District.—Notice No. 1487.


IN pursuance of section 15, paragraph (f) (i), of the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the abattoir established by the New Plymouth Borough Council for the district comprising the Borough of New Plymouth has, by agreement between the said Borough Council and the St. Aubyn Town Board, been made available for the purposes of the St. Aubyn Town District, and that the New Plymouth Borough Council is the controlling authority of the said abattoir.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds by Local Authorities.—Notice No. 1488.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned local authorities have by special order declared the plants enumerated opposite each to be noxious weeds within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the districts under the jurisdiction of each respectively:—

Mount Herbert County Council Gorse and broom.

Invercargill Borough Council Bathurst burr, broom, burdock, dock, elderberry, fennel, foxglove, giant burdock, gorse, hakea, hemlock, kangaroo acacia, lupin, ox-eye daisy, pennyroyal, periwinkle, St. John’s wort, tauhinu (or New Zealand cottonwood), thistles—any species of Carlina (stemless thistle), Carduus (common plume or Scotch thistle), Cnicus (woolly-headed thistle), Centaurea (star thistle), Silybum (milk thistle)—tutsan, viper’s bugloss, wild borage, wild turnip, winged thistle, African box-thorn, Capeweed, and pennycress.

Forbidding Money-order and Postal Correspondence for Post-office Box 367, Christchurch.


THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose address is shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in receiving money as the consideration for an assurance or agreement implied to pay money on events relating to horse-races, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 (a) of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no postal packet addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.
