BROADFIELD RIDING.
All that area in the Paparua County bounded towards
the north-west by Templeton Riding hereinbefore de-
scribed from Weedon and Springs Road to the junction
of Shand's Road with Hampton's Road; thence towards
the north-east by Prebbleton Riding hereinbefore de-
scribed to the junction of roads at the south-eastern corner
of Rural Section 1364; thence towards the east generally
by Ellesmere Road by Dawson's to Ellesmere Junction
Road; and thence towards the south-west by Springs
County as described in the Fifth Schedule to the Selwyn
County Subdivision Act, 1910, to the place of commence-
ment.
LADBROOKS RIDING.
All that area in the Paparua County bounded towards
the north-east, east, and south by Halswell County, as
described in the Fourth Schedule to the Selwyn County
Subdivision Act, 1910, from the road at the easternmost
corner of Rural Section No. 2213 to the north-eastern
boundary of Springs County as described in the Fifth
Schedule to the said Act; thence towards the south-west
by the said Springs County to Ellesmere Road by Daw-
son's; and thence towards the north-west by Broadfield
and Prebbleton Ridings hereinbefore described to the
place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this eighth
day of March, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and eleven.

New County of Springs divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Counties Act, 1908, and the
Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, I, John Poynder
Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County
of Springs, as constituted by the said Acts, into two
ridings, to be called the Springston Riding and the Green-
park Riding; and declare that the boundaries thereof
shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
And I do hereby declare that four members shall be
elected for the Springston Riding, and two members for
the Greenpark Riding. And I do further declare that
Tuesday, the fourth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and eleven, shall be the day upon which the
election of the first Council of the said County of Springs
shall take place; and that Thursday, the sixth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at half past
two o'clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the
Springs Road Board Office, Springston, shall be the place,
at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be
held.
SCHEDULE.
SPRINGSTON RIDING.
ALL that area in Springs County bounded towards the
north-west by Malvern County, as described in the First
Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910,
from the middle of the River Selwyn to the Paparua
County, as described in the Second Schedule to the said
Act; thence towards the north-east by the said Paparua
County to Springs Road; thence towards the east gene-
rally by Springs Road and the road forming the north-
eastern boundary of Rural Section No. 11001 to L' Creek;
thence by L' Creek, the south-eastern side of a lagoon,
and No. 2 River to Lake Ellesmere; thence by that lake
to the mouth of the River Selwyn; and thence towards
the west and south-west generally by a line along the
middle of the River Selwyn to the place of commencement.
GREENPARK RIDING.
All that area in Springs County bounded towards the
north-east by Paparua County, as described in the Second
Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910,
from Springs Road to Halswell County, as described in
the Fourth Schedule to the said Act; thence by the said
Halswell County to Wairewa County, as described in the
First Schedule to the Wairewa County Act, 1909; thence
towards the east generally by the said Wairewa County
to Lake Ellesmere; thence towards the south and south-
west by Lake Ellesmere to No. 2 River; and thence
towards the west generally by Springston Riding herein-
before described to the place of commencement.

Riding, and the Lake Coleridge Riding; and declare that
the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the

elected for the Rakaia Riding, two members for the Horo-
rata Riding, and three members for the Lake Coleridge
Riding. And I do further declare that Tuesday, the
fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven,
shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council
of the said County of Selwyn shall take place; and that
Thursday, the sixth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and eleven, at half past two o'clock in the after-
noon, shall be the time, and the Rakaia Road Board
Office, at Hororata, shall be the place, at which the first
meeting of the said Council shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
RAKAIA RIDING.
ALL that area in Selwyn County bounded towards the
north-east by a line along the middle of the River Selwyn
from a point in line with the road forming the north-
western boundary of Rural Sections Nos. 4320, 4321, 4363,
and 4346, to the Christchurch-Dunedin Railway line;
thence towards the south-east by Ellesmere County, as de-
scribed in the Sixth Schedule to the Selwyn County Sub-
division Act, 1910, to the middle of the Rakaia River;
thence towards the south-west by a line along the middle
of the Rakaia River to a point in line with the road which
intersects Rural Section No. 26876 and forms the boundary
between Rural Sections Nos. 27006 and 32557; thence
towards the north-west generally by a right line to and
by that road to Rakaia Terrace Road; thence by the said
Rakaia Terrace Road to its junction with West Boundary
Road at the northernmost corner of Reserve No. 2651;
thence by West Boundary Road to the southern boundary
of Reserve No. 1765; thence by the southern boundary of
that reserve to Ardlui Road; thence by the last-mentioned
road to Leach's Track; thence by Leach's Track to the
junction of Dunsandel Road with the road which forms
the western boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 32159 and
4086; thence by that road to the Hororata River; thence
across and by the said Hororata River to the road form-
ing the north-western boundary of Rural Sections Nos.
4320, 4321, 4363, and 4346; thence by that road and its
production to the middle of the River Selwyn, the place of
commencement.
HORORATA RIDING.
All that area in Selwyn County bounded towards the
north and north-east generally by a line along the middle
of the Wakaepa Branch of the River Selwyn from Copper
Creek to the northernmost corner of Rakaia Riding here-
