All that area in the Malvern County bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Tawera County, as described in the First Schedule to the Tawera County Act, 1909, from the middle of the Wakaepa Branch of the River Selwyn to the south-eastern corner of the said county at Auchenflower Road; thence towards the south-east by Courtenay Riding hereinbefore described to the middle of the Wakaepa Branch of the River Selwyn; and thence towards the south-west generally by a line along the middle of the said branch to the place of commencement.

SHEFFIELD RIDING.

All that area in the Malvern County bounded towards the north-east by a line along the middle of the Waimakariri River from a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section No. 4739 in Block VIII, Kowai Survey District, to the north-western corner of Courtenay Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the south-east by the said Courtenay Riding to Auchenflower Road at the south-eastern corner of Tawera County; and thence towards the south-west and north-west by the said Tawera County to the place of commencement.

ISLINGTON, GOVERNOR.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Counties Act, 1908, and the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Paparua, as constituted by the said Acts, into seven ridings, to be called the Yaldhurst Riding, the Islington Riding, the Sockburn Riding, the Templeton Riding, the Prebbleton Riding, the Broadfield Riding, and the Ladbrooks Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby declare that one member shall be elected for each of the aforesaid ridings. And I do further declare that Tuesday, the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Paparua shall take place; and that Thursday, the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at three o'clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the Templeton Road Board Office, Yaldhurst, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

YALDHURST RIDING.

ALL that area in the Paparua County bounded towards the north by a line along the middle of the Waimakariri River from the north-eastern corner of Malvern County as described in the First Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, to the north-western corner of Waimairi County as described in the First Schedule to the Waimairi County Act, 1909; thence towards the east generally by the said Waimairi County to Hornby Junction Road; thence by the said Hornby Junction Road to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section No. 4334; thence towards the south generally by that section and Rural Sections Nos. 4432, 4433, and 4447 to Gilbertshorp's Road, across that road and by Rural Sections Nos. 4463 and 8472 to Pound Road, across that road and by Rural Sections Nos. 329, 20651, and 2352 to the junction of Haskett's Road and Rifle Butt Road; thence by the latter road to Dawsons and Waimakariri Road; and thence towards the west generally by Malvern County aforesaid to the place of commencement.

ISLINGTON RIDING.

All that area in the Paparua County bounded towards the north generally by Yaldhurst Riding hereinbefore described from Haskett's Road to the western boundary of Waimairi County; thence by the said Waimairi County to the junction of Yaldhurst Road and Racecourse Road; thence towards the south-east generally by Racecourse Road to the easternmost corner of Rural Section No. 1136; thence by that section to Buchanan's Road; across that road to the northernmost corner of Rural Section No. 2113 and by that section to Factory Road; thence across and by the southern side of Factory Road to the north-western corner of Rural Section No. 1686; thence by that section to the Great South Road, across that road to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section No. 1676, and by the roads forming the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section to Spring's Road; thence by Spring's Road to Rural Section No. 2546; thence towards the south-west by that section and Rural Section No. 2625 to and across Shand's Road; thence again towards the south-east by Shand's Road to its junction with Marshe's Road; thence again towards the south-west by the last-mentioned road and Barter's Road to Haskett's Road; and thence towards the north-west by Haskett's Road to the place of commencement.

SOCKBURN RIDING.

All that area in the Paparua County bounded towards the north-east by Waimairi County from Racecourse Road to Middle Lincoln Road; thence towards the south-east and south-west by Halswell County as described in the Fourth Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, to the easternmost corner of Rural Section No. 19057; thence by that section and Rural Section No. 1425 to Spring's Road; and thence towards the west generally by Spring's Road and Islington Riding hereinbefore described to the place of commencement.

TEMPLETON RIDING.

All that area in Paparua County bounded towards the north-west by Yaldhurst Riding hereinbefore described from Dawsons and Waimakaririri Road to Haskett's Road; thence towards the east generally by Islington Riding hereinbefore described to Shand's Road; thence towards the south-east by Shand's Road to its junction with Selwyn Road; thence by Selwyn Road to its junction with Weedon and Springs Road; and thence towards the west generally by Springs County and Malvern County as described in the Fifth and First Schedules to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, respectively, to the place of commencement.

PREBBLETON RIDING.

All that area in Paparua County bounded towards the north generally by Islington and Sockburn Ridings hereinbefore described from the junction of Shand's Road with Marshe's Road to the easternmost corner of Rural Section No. 19057; thence towards the east generally by Halswell County as described in the Fourth Schedule to the Selwyn County Subdivision Act, 1910, to the easternmost corner of Rural Section No. 2213; thence towards the south generally by the roads forming the south-eastern boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 2213, 2310, 2558, and 1364 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the road forming the southern boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 1364, 1349, 1363, and 1431 to the Lincoln and Prebbleton Road; thence by that road to its junction with Hampton's Road; thence by the last-mentioned road to Shand's Road; and thence towards the north-west by Shand's Road to the place of commencement.
