Council proposes to raise a special loan of £11,225.
(a.) The particular purpose for which the loan is required
is the improvement of the streets (by formation and metalling)
and the extension of the sewers. (b.) The sum proposed
to be borrowed for such purpose is £11,225. (c.) The
proposed security is a special rate of 2½d. in the pound
on the annual value of all rateable property within the
borough, and its revenues, rents, tolls, issues, and profits
(with the exception of all the land used for the public
abattoir, and all buildings and erections thereon, and the
revenues and profits thereon, and excepting moneys received
or receivable by way of grant from the Government), and provision is made for repayment by means of a
sinking fund in thirty-six years and a half, under the New
Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909. (d.) It is
proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan
and the interest for the first year.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 241.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 116.
Informal 4.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

BOROUGH OF BLENHEIM.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Borough of Blenheim taken on the 21st day of February, 1911,
on the proposal of the Blenheim Borough Council
to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the extension of present
system of gasworks mains (including the purchase of mains
and laying same), the number of votes recorded for the
proposal was 254, the number of votes recorded against
the proposal was 70, and informal votes 7.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the County of Akitio was taken on the 25th day of February, 1911,
on the proposal of the Akitio County Council
to borrow the sum of £20,000, over a special rating area,
for : 1. Metalling the main Alfredton-Weber Road (a) on
the portion known as "Pongaroa to Waione," £4,888 13s.;
(b) on the portion known as "Pongaroa to Masterton," £4,052 12s. 2. Metalling the main Makuri-Pongaroa Road,
£611 2s. 3d. 3. Metalling the main Rimu Road (a) on
portion known as "Alfredton-Weber End," £275; (b) on
the portion known as "Makuri-Pongaroa End," £641 13s.
4. Metalling the main Pongaroa-Akitio Road, £2,066 5s.
5. Metalling the Oporae Road, £814 15s. 6d. 6. Metalling
the Waikereru Road, £600. 7. Construction of a bridge
over the Aohanga River at Longford, £900. 8. Construction
of a bridge over the Aohanga River at Look-out, £1,400. 9. Construction of a bridge over the Aohanga

River at Waterloo, £1,900. 10. Construction of a bridge
over the Aohanga River at Waiotiaki, £1,850.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 132.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 98.
Informal votes, 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Notice to Imprestees under the Public Revenues Act, 1908.

The Treasury,
Wellington, 28th February, 1911.

E VERY officer holding advances of public money is
hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at
the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the unexpended balance of his account on or before Friday, the
31st March proximo, and forthwith to transmit to the
Treasury at Wellington the bank-receipt for such repayment,
together with an account of his expenditure to the
same date, as required by clause 4 of the Treasury Regulations.

As respects disbursements which officers may require to
make immediately after the close of the financial year,
requisitions for the amount required are to be made in
such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later
than the 15th March, so that the requisite funds may be
placed at the disposal of the officer, either by imprest or
credit-note as the Treasury considers desirable, as soon after
the 1st April as possible.

In estimating the amount of the advance required officers
are not to include any sums which can be conveniently paid
through the Post-office on the certificate of a local certifying
officer, who will in due course be appointed for that purpose.
