vested in me by the Christchurch City Betterment Act, 1908,
the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied
of the sufficiency of the agreements hereinbefore referred to,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of
extending Gladstone Street, in the City of Christchurch,
together with additional land on both sides of such extension
of street, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and
Citizens of the City of Christchurch, as from the date
hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that
this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder
Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of
the owners of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto,
and of the Southland County Council, being the local
authority in whose district the said land is situated, pro-
claim as a road the land in Invercargill Hundred described
in the Schedule hereto.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the
Kawakawa-Hokianga Railway—viz., Kaikohe Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Kawakawa-Hokianga Railway (here-
inafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway
the construction of which is authorized by the Railways
Authorization Act, 1909: And whereas the said railway
has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to
construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor of the Dominion of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred on me by the Public Works Act,
1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion
of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in
the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point marked 8 miles 15 chains, distant
787374·2 links north and 397230·6 links west from the
Initial Station of the Mount Eden Trigonometrical Cir-
cuit, the said point being the termination of the railway
described in a Proclamation dated the 1st day of August,
1910, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 75,
of the 4th August, 1910; proceeding thence first in a
south-westerly and then in a north-westerly direction for
a total distance of about 8 miles 10 chains, and passing
in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Para-
hirahi Block B No. 1 (2730B1), Block I, Motatau Survey
District, and Block IV, Punakitere Survey District; Para-
hirahi Block and Parahirahi Block No. 3 (2730A3),
Kohewhata Block and Otahi No. 1 Block, Block IV,
Punakitere Survey District; Otahi No. 1 Block, Otahi
No. 2 Block, and Kohewhata Block, Block III, Punakitere
Survey District, and terminating at a point in Block XV,
Omapere Survey District, marked 16 miles 25 chains, and
distant 805283·5 links north and 435457·6 links west from
the before-mentioned Mount Eden Initial Trigonometrical
Station: including all adjoining and intervening places,
lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and water-
courses: all in the Land District of Auckland: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 27961, de-
posited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
