Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Additional Land at Waikino taken for the Purposes of the Paeroa-Waihi Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Paeroa-Waihi Railway to take further land at Waikino, in addition to land previously acquired for the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Christchurch City Betterment Act, 1908, for extending Gladstone Street, in the City of Christchurch, together with additional land on both sides of such extension of street:

And whereas the Christchurch City Council has entered into agreements with the owners and others having an interest in the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the purposes hereinafter set forth, and has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, as required by the Public Works Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities
