Defining the Middle-line of the remaining Portion of the Mount Egmont Branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway—namely, from Waipuku to Mount Egmont (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1904: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain the remaining portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said remaining portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Block XV, Egmont Survey District, marked 5 miles 63·69 chains, which point is also a point on the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 23rd day of January, 1905, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 5, of the 26th day of January, 1905; proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction for a distance about 3 miles 16·31 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the Mount Egmont Forest Reserve in said Block XV and in Block XIV, Mount Egmont Forest Reserve, and terminating in said Block XIV at a point marked 9 miles: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Taranaki: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 28183, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
(Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second day of February, 1911.

THE HONOURABLE J. A. MILLAR PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two hundred and three of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council, in any case in which he deems it expedient in the public interest so to do, authorize any acquisition, alienation, or disposition of Native land or of any interest therein, notwithstanding any of the provisions of Part XII (relating to limitation of area) of the aforementioned Act:
And whereas it is expedient that authority be granted for the acquisition, alienation, or disposition of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding any of the provisions of Part XII of the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby authorize the acquisition, alienation, or disposition of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding any of the provisions of Part XII of the Native Land Act, 1909. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby authorized.

Art Union of London exempted from Provisions of Gaming Acts.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section ten of the Gaming Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the provisions of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other Acts prohibiting lotteries, shall not apply to the Art Union of London, being a body corporate established by Royal Charter in the United Kingdom for the advancement of the fine arts.
