Locality and Description.
Run 199r.—Undulating country, with northerly exposure,
rising from 2,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. Well watered; and
grassed with good tussock, but intersected by swamps in
gullies. Ring-fenced. Distant about eleven miles from
Roxburgh. Approximate valuation for improvements,
£110. Improvements consist of fencing.
Runs 1 and 2 (Tuapeka).—High, exposed country, well
grassed with native grasses and snow tussock, dangerous
in winter, but very good summer country. Altitude,
2,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. Distant about fifteen miles from
Lawrence. Approximate valuation for improvements,
£180. Improvements consist of fencing, hut, shed, and
yards. Boundaries and area are subject to slight altera-
tion.
Sections 5 to 9 and 11 to 15, Block VII, Tuapeka East
District.—This run comprises a number of sharp ridges
intersected by deep gullies. It is well grassed with native
grasses. Situated on a good road, about six miles from
Waitahuna Railway-station. Approximate valuation for
improvements, £80. The improvements consist of fencing.
Run 505.—Situated on the Cardrona Watershed on both
sides of the river. Good pastoral country, fairly well
grassed and watered, of which nearly one-third, including
part of Criffel Block, is good winter country, though
somewhat bare. Altitude, 950 ft. to 6,000 ft. Distant by
main road from Pembroke, Wanaka, under four miles.
Improvements consist of fencing, the approximate value
of which will be announced at the sale.
Sections 5 and 6, Block V, Cardrona District, are the
homestead-site for Run 565. The buildings, which com-
prise wool-shed, men’s house, cottage, &c., are valued at
£400. These buildings must be paid for in ten years by
half-yearly instalments of £25 18s., or they may be paid
off by a cash payment.
Sections 23, 24, and 25, Block VII, Table Hill District.
—This run consists of a number of ridges with deep, well-
sheltered gullies; well grassed with native grasses. Con-
tains an area of dense manuka scrub. Situated about four
miles from Waitahuna Railway-station. Approximate
valuation for improvements, £150. Improvements consist
of fencing.
Run 503.—This run consists of a number of undulating
ridges, none of which rise to a dangerous height. A large
proportion of the area is covered with dense manuka scrub,
and most of the gullies contain birch bush. Deer are
plentiful over this country. Situated about eighteen miles
from Lawrence. Approximate valuation for improve-
ments, £480. These comprise house, hut, wool-shed, out-
buildings, yards, grassing, and fencing.
Sections 35 to 38, Block IV, and 12 and 17, Block XVII,
Crookston District.—This run comprises a leading high
ridge, with broken spurs on each side; not suitable for
cultivation; mostly covered with fern, with patches of
good tussock on some of the faces. Distant about a mile
from Rae’s Junction. Improvements consist of fencing,
the approximate value of which is £15.
Sections 18 and 19, Block XVII, Crookston District.—
This run has a good position and a good aspect. The land
is mostly covered with fern, with a few patches of good
tussock. Situated about a mile from Rae’s Junction.
Approximate valuation for improvements, £60. Improve-
ments consist of fencing.
Run 121r.—Open, undulating country, carrying fair
tussock and snow grass. Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 1,800 ft.
Well watered. Situated about eight miles and a half from
Macrae’s Flat Post-office. The approximate valuation for
improvements is £95. The improvements consist of
fencing.
Section 1, Block III, Silver Peak District.—Broken
country, covered with tussock and manuka scrub, with
general southerly aspect, rising from about 700 ft. to
2,000 ft.; well watered. Accessible by bridle-track
(formed in parts) from Mount Allan Railway-station,
distance about four miles. Fenced on north side on
boundary, and on west side part on boundary and part
give-and-take fence. The improvements consist of fencing
the value of which will probably be about £50.
Sections 23 and 24, Block XI, Maungatua District.—
This run has a fair sole of native grass and snow-grass
tussock. The higher parts are sour and swampy. The
general aspect is northerly. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 2,900 ft.
Distant about five miles from Outram Railway-station.
The approximate valuation for improvements is £90. The
improvements consist of fencing.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned
small grazing-runs are open for lease, and applica-
tions will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m.
on Wednesday, the 22nd day of February, 1911, under the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
Run 498.—Open, broken, pastoral land; good aspect,
but rather bare; well watered. Altitude, 900 ft. to
1,400 ft. Distant about twelve miles from Alexandra.
The improvements consist of half fencing on boundary
with Sections 14 and 15, 63 chains, at 6s. per chain,
£18 18s.; fencing near western boundary (for removal),
28 chains, at 4s. 6d. per chain, £6 6s.: total, £25 4s.
Run 499.—Open, broken, pastoral land, half the area
being summer country, fairly well grassed; the frontage
is somewhat bare. Altitude, 1,200 ft. to 5,000 ft. Dis-
tant about fourteen miles from Alexandra. The improve-
ments consist of fencing on boundary with Run 425B,
211 chains, at 3s. 6d. per chain, £36 18s. 6d.; fencing
along road not on boundary, 89 chains, at 6s. per chain,
£26 14s.; internal fence, 17 chains, at 6s. per chain,
£5 2s.; yards, £2; stable and iron hut, £60: total, £130
14s. 6d.
