Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Situation fair; access by good metalled road to Section 108, thence by formed road. Distance from two miles and a half to three miles from Longbush Railway-station. About two miles from school and post-office. Land flat, growing bush of no commercial value, the sawmills having worked out the sawmilling-timber.

Situation fair. Access by formed road. Distant two miles and a half from One-tree Point, post-office, and school. Level land, inclined to be wet towards the west boundary. Timber has been worked by a sawmill, but there is plenty of timber fit for fencing and firewood. Soil fair.

Level land; soil good; covered with light bush fit only for fencing and firewood. Access by formed road. Situated about half a mile from Waimatua Siding and seven miles from Invercargill.

Land flat; soil fair, swampy in places. All worked-out sawmill areas. Fifty acres has been surface sown. Distance from Mokotua Railway-station, one mile. Access by gravelled road to within one mile, balance by unformed road. The Seaward Bush Railway runs along the south boundary.
