Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Soil of fair second-class quality, on sandstone formation; fairly watered. Situated about seven miles from Kawakawa by fair road.

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with fern and scrub. Soil of inferior quality, on clay subsoil; well watered. Situated about nine miles from Kaitaia by fair road.

Altitude, from 50 ft. to 200 ft. above sea level. Undulating to broken land, covered with fern and manuka. Soil of medium second-class quality, on clay subsoil; well watered. Situated about four miles from Totara by fair road.

HOKIANGA COUNTY.—MANGAMUKA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, from 10 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; about 6 acres light mixed forest, balance scrub and fern. Soil of inferior quality, on clay subsoil; indifferently watered by springs. Fronts Waihou branch of Hokianga Harbour, about five miles by water from Kohukohu.

WHANGAREI COUNTY.—OWHIWA PARISH.

Altitude, from 650 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land; 2 acres felled and grassed; balance mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, tawa, tarai̇re, with heavy undergrowth of nikau, punga, makomako, mahoe, and supplejack. Soil a light loam of fairly good quality, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated about five miles from Parua Bay—four miles cart-road in good order, remainder 6 ft. bridle-track.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
