THE following notice, received from the Waipukurau Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Waipukurau was taken on the 17th day of August, 1910, on the proposal of the Town Board to borrow the sum of £10,000 for the purposes of providing and establishing a water-supply and providing fire appliances for the town district, divided as under :-

For providing and establishing a water-supply... 9,500
For providing fire-prevention appliances (including charges and interest for the first year) 500
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 76; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Clandeboye No. 2 Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from 1st August, 1910.
SCHEDULE.
CLANDEBOYE NO. 2 SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 409 acres 2 roods 22 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 16365, situate in Block IV, Arowhenua Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the south-east by Rural Section No. 13902, 3989·6 links; towards the south-west by a road 1 chain wide, formerly part of Rural Section No. 12516, 10496·4 links; towards the north-west by the eastern boundary of Rolleston Road, 3250·6 links; thence by a line bearing 133° 40′, 986 links; thence by a line bearing 43° 40′, 604·9 links; thence towards the north-east by a road and drain reserve, 9666·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19412, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

REMOVAL OF DREDGER, ETC., FROM SOUTH CHANNEL, PORT PHILLIP.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 58, dated 18th December, 1909, it is hereby intimated that, owing to necessary repairs, the dredger “John Nimmo,” with the accompanying anchor punt, will be removed from the South Channel for about one month.

SPENCER GULF.—JETTY LIGHT, TUMBY BAY (HARVEY BAY).
MASTERS of vessels and others are informed that, on and after the 1st day of August next, a red light (in lieu of the white one shown at present) will be exhibited from the end of the Tumby Bay new jetty, and will be visible from seaward between the bearings of north 70 west and south 70 west, showing over the deep water between Tumby Reef on the south side of the bay to the shoal water on the north. The light will be visible in clear weather for a distance of six miles.
Approximate position: Lat. 34° 23′ S., long. 136° 6½′ E.
This affects Admiralty Chart No. 2389B.

CURRIE HARBOUR (KING ISLAND) SHIPPING AND TIDE SIGNALS.
ON and after the 20th August, 1910, the following day signals will be shown on the flagstaff at Currie Harbour Lighthouse-station :-
Shipping signals (to be kept flying until tide signals are hoisted) :-
Steamer in sight to the north: Red pennant at the masthead.
Steamer in sight to the south: Blue pennant at the masthead.
Tide signals (to be shown only when vessels are in sight) :-
Low water: Red flag at the masthead.
Half-tide flood: Black ball at the masthead.
High water: Blue flag at the masthead.
Half-tide ebb: One black ball at the masthead and another at half-mast.
The time of taking down the shipping signal and hoisting the tide signal will be at the discretion of the lighthouse Superintendent.
The lighthouse authorities take no responsibility in connection with the signalling, but every care will be exercised to maintain the service efficiently.

GULF OF ST. VINCENT.—ENTRANCE TO PORT ADELAIDE RIVER.
MASTERS of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby informed that, during the erection of the light beacon near the sea end of the Outer Harbour Revetment Wall, a bright anchor light will be exhibited from the vessel engaged at the work or from the structure in course of erection.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389A and B, and 1750 and 1752.
