THE following special order, made by the Waimarino County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

RESOLVED that the following special order, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908, the Waimarino County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,300, authorized to be raised by the Waimarino County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of forming the Oruakukuru-Karioi Road into a 12ft. dray-road from its junction with the Para-para Road to its junction with the Otiranui Road, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ohotu No. 1 Special Rating District, comprising all the properties situated within the following boundaries—commencing at a point where the west boundary of Section 1, Block XI, Makotuku Survey District, touches the Karioi-Oruakukuru Road; thence generally north and north-east by the west and north-west boundaries of that section to Section 2, Block XI, Makotuku Survey District; thence north-east and east by the north boundary of Sections 2 and 4, Block XI, Makotuku Survey District, to the Otiranui Road ; thence south by the Otiranui Road to the Karioi-Oruakukuru Road; thence north-east by the Karioi-Oruakukuru Road to the east boundary of Section 4, Block XVI; thence south and west by the east and south boundaries of Section 4, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District, to Section 3, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District; thence west and north-westerly by the south and west boundaries of Section 3, Block XVI, Makotuku Survey District, to the south boundary of Section 13, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District; thence west by the south boundaries of Sections 9 and 13, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District, to the west boundary of Section 9, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District; thence north by the west boundary of Section 9, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District, to Section 8, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District; thence west and north by the south and west boundaries of Section 2, Block XV, Makotuku Survey District, to the Karioi-Oruakukuru Road ; thence north-east by the north side of the Karioi-Oruakukuru Road to the starting-point : and including all the following properties—Sections 1, 2, 4, 5 in Block XI; Sections 2, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 in Block XV ; and Sections 2, 3, 4 in Block XVI; all in the Makotuku Survey District : and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off. The loan will bear interest at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum. It is proposed to pay out of the loan-moneys the first year’s interest thereon and the cost of raising the loan.

I, Peter Brass, Chairman of the Waimarino County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Waimarino County Council held on the 9th day of July, 1910, and was duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Waimarino County Council held on the 13th day of August, 1910.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waimairi, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN.
Waimairi County Council.—Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Fendalton Special Rating District was taken on the llth day of August, 1910, on the proposal of the Waimairi County Council to borrow a sum of £4,800 for the purpose of channelling, regrading, and asphalt ing the footpaths in the said special area.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 80 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 23. I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Greytown, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Greytown was taken on the 17th day of August, 1910, on the proposal of the Greytown Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the establishment of municipal gasworks.

The number of votes for the proposal was 152; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 110. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Johnsonville Town District taken on the 17th day of August, 1910, on the proposal of the Johnsonville Town Board to borrow a sum of £13,500 for a water-supply and drainage scheme, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 100, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 32. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
