THE following special order was duly made by the Karaka Road Board at a meeting held on the 5th March, 1910, and confirmed at a meeting on the 16th April following, in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908 :—

The Karaka Road Board shall be divided into three wards, in the following manner: That portion comprised in the Opaheke Parish is to form one ward, with one representative on the Road Board. The remainder of the district is to be divided into two wards, separated by the Drury—Waiuku Road, each having two members on the Board. Every ward is to have the control of the rates raised within its boundaries. All the wards shall contribute towards the maintenance of the Drury—Waiuku Road, in proportions to be hereafter determined.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF WARDS MENTIONED IN ABOVE SPECIAL ORDER.

No. 1 Ward.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks III, IV, VII, and VIII, Drury Survey District, and being No. 1 Ward of the Karaka Road District, commencing at the northernmost corner of Allotment 119, Karaka Parish. Bounded towards the north by a branch of the Manukau Harbour (known as Hingaia) to the Drury Road District, towards the east by the said Drury Road District to its junction with the northern boundary of Pukekohe East Road District, towards the south by the last-mentioned road district to the western boundary of the Opaheke Parish, and towards the west by the aforesaid western boundary of the Opaheke Parish to the point of commencement.

No. 2 Ward.

Also all that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, VII, and X, Drury Survey District, and being No. 2 Ward of the Karaka Road District, commencing at the western corner of Allotment No. 1, Karaka Parish. Bounded towards the north generally by the Manukau Harbour, and crossing various creeks, to the western boundary of Opaheke Parish; towards the east by the aforesaid Opaheke Parish boundary to the Drury—Waiuku Road; towards the south-east by the aforesaid Drury—Waiuku Road to the eastern boundary of Waiau Parish; and towards the south-west by the aforesaid Waiau Parish boundary to the point of commencement.

No. 3 Ward.

Also all that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks VI, VII, VIII, X, XI, and XII, Drury Survey District, and being No. 3 Ward of the Karaka Road District, commencing at a point where the Drury—Waiuku Road crosses the eastern boundary of the Waiau Parish. Bounded towards the north-west by the aforesaid Drury—Waiuku Road to the western boundary of Opaheke Parish, towards the east by the aforesaid Opaheke Parish, towards the south by the Pukekohe Parish, and towards the west by the Waiau Parish to the point of commencement.

THE following special orders, made by the Wairoa Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

WAIROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Orders making Special Rates.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and all amendments thereof, the Wairoa Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £9,000, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of forming, metalling, and draining certain streets in the Borough of Wairoa, the said Wairoa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅚d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the Borough of Wairoa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate, and be payable on the 1st day of October in each and every year for a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and all amendments thereof, the Wairoa Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing a building for borough offices and Council chambers in the Borough of Wairoa, the said Wairoa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁄₁₀d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the Borough of Wairoa; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate, and be payable on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan.

Passed at a special meeting of the Wairoa Borough Council held on Monday, 18th July, 1910, and duly confirmed at a special meeting held on Monday, 15th day of August, 1910.

The common seal of the Wairoa Borough Council was hereunto affixed this 16th day of August, 1910, in the presence of—

Special Order made by the Hunterville Town Board.

THE following special order, made by the Hunterville Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

HUNTERVILLE TOWN BOARD.

Special Order.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Hunterville Town Board held at the Board’s office, Bruce Street, Hunterville, on Monday, the 18th day of July, 1910, it was resolved that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hunterville Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Hunterville Town Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of extending works for the supply of water to the Hunterville Town District, and of extending works of drainage and sewerage in the said town district, and being a further loan of 10 per cent. on original loan of £5,000 authorized for the said purposes, the said Hunterville Town Board hereby levies a special rate of ³⁄₂₅d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Hunterville Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the cost of raising the loan and the first half-year’s interest to be paid out of the loan.

The common seal of the Hunterville Town Board was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Commissioners, in the presence of—
