Special Orders made by the Council of the Borough of Waipawa.

THE following special orders, made by the Waipawa Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

SPECIAL ORDER PASSED BY WAIPAWA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Meeting, 12 o’clock Noon, 8th June, 1910; confirmed, Special Meeting, 12 o’clock Noon, 9th July, 1910.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act 1908, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of completing the water-supply scheme, the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby authorises the raising of a special loan of £700, such amount being one-tenth of the loan known as the water-supply loan of £7,000 raised by the Waipawa Town Board under Part I of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901; and that such special loan of £700 be for a period of sixteen years and a half, computed from the 1st day of July, 1910, and that the rate of interest be £5 per centum per annum, and the amount of sinking fund be £1 per centum per annum, and that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised; and that, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in connection with the said loan, the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/11d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Waipawa (the boundaries of the said borough being described in the Schedule to the Waipawa Borough Act, 1907); and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above special order has been duly passed and confirmed.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of completing the erection of the Town Hall, Borough Offices, and Public Library Building, and the purchase of land on which to erect such building, the Waipawa Borough Council hereby authorises the raising of a special loan of £250, such amount being one-tenth of the loan known as the Town Hall, Borough Offices, and Public Library loan of £2,500 raised by the Waipawa Borough Council under Part I of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908; and that such special loan of £250 be for a period of thirty-two years computed from the 1st day of July, 1910, and that the rate of interest be £5 per centum per annum, and the amount of sinking fund be £1 per centum per annum, and that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised; and that, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in connection with the said loan, the said Waipawa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/28d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Waipawa (the boundaries of the said borough being described in the Schedule to the Waipawa Borough Act, 1907); and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Hokitika Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorised to be raised by the said Council for the purpose of completing water and drainage works and for extra reticulation in the Borough of Hokitika, the said Hokitika Borough Council hereby makes and levies an annual-recurring special rate of 5d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised in the Borough of Hokitika, being all that area of land described in Proclamation dated the 27th day of November, 1878, published in the New Zealand Gazette of 28th November, 1878, Vol. 2, page 1669; and that such special rate shall be payable during the currency of said loan half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October of each year until the loan is fully paid off.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Station Street Special Rating District was taken on the 16th day of July, 1910, on the proposal of the Rangitikei County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of constructing a footpath along Station Street from the Tutaenui Bridge to the Marton Junction Railway-station.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 42; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
