this nineteenth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and ten.

Opening Settlement Lands in Canterbury Land District for Selection.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the
Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-
Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease on Tuesday, the sixteenth day of August,
one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rentals mentioned
in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said
lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of
the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—ASHBURTON COUNTY.—SHEPHERD’S BUSH SURVEY DISTRICT.—RUAPUNA NO. 2 SETTLEMENT.

First-class Land.

^a Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £235, payable
in cash or in fourteen years by half-yearly instalments of £11 17s. 5d.
Total half-yearly payment, £98 18s. 11d.

^b Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £500, payable
in cash or in twenty-one years by half-yearly instalments of
£19 10s.

^c Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £100, payable
in cash or in seven years by half-yearly instalments of £8 12s. 10d.
The total half yearly payment will therefore be £116 15s. 10d.

^d Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £200, payable
in cash or in twenty-one years by half-yearly instalments of
£7 16s.

^e Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £197, payable
in cash or in seven years by half-yearly instalments of £17 0s. 6d.
The total half-yearly payment will therefore be £134 12s. 6d.

New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land

on renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-seventh day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental
mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that
the said land shall be leased under and subject to the
provisions of the said Acts.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WEST TAUPŌ COUNTY.—TAUTARI SETTLEMENT.

First-class Land.

Weighted with £97, valuation for two-roomed house, cowshed, stockyard, and 90 chains fencing.

Altitude, from 400 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; about 200 acres grass mixed with fern, balance fern land; the greater part of this section was once in grass, but is now largely overgrown with fern. Soil light loam, medium second-class quality; well watered by small streams. Situated about sixteen miles from Kihikihi by formed cart-road.

New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease on Monday, the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CLUTHA COUNTY.—POMAHAKA SURVEY DISTRICT.—POMAHAKA DOWNS SETTLEMENT.

First-class Land.

Weighted with £240 9s. 6d., valuation for improvements, consisting of 206 chains of fencing, 120 acres in new grass, and 150 acres cultivated (part in old grass and part in stubble).

Open, agricultural land, all ploughable; well watered; northerly aspect; low sloping ridges with deep soil; subsoil of sandy clay; distant about ten miles from Clinton Railway-station.
