Recreation Reserve in Southland Land District brought
under Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and
declare that the reserve for recreation in the Southland
Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be
and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and
declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the
said Act; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as
Hedgehope Domain, and be managed, administered, and
dealt with as a public domain.
SCHEDULE.
HEDGEHOPE DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 344, Block IV, Forest Hill Hundred, Southland
County. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 448
in the said block, 921·1 links; towards the east by a public
road, 600 links; towards the south-east by a public road,
1140·4 links and 170·2 links respectively; and towards the
west by Sections Nos. 366 and 447 in the said block,
1527·1 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less:
as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1359, de-
posited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wel-
lington, and thereon bordered red.

Terms and Conditions of Lease of Village-homestead Allot-
ments in Makaretu Village Settlement, Wellington Land
District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of July, 1910.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-third section of
the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Go-
vernor in Council may fix the terms and conditions upon
which the lands in any village settlement shall be disposed
of, subject as in the said section is provided: And whereas
by a Proclamation made under the said Act on the thirtieth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventh
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, the
lands described in the First Schedule hereto have been set
apart under the said Act and declared opened for lease as
a village settlement, and it is expedient to fix the terms
and conditions upon which the said lands shall be disposed
of:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby fix the terms and conditions
on which the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto
shall be disposed of by way of renewable lease, and which
said terms and conditions are set forth in the Second
Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.-PAHIATUA COUNTY.-MANGA-

These sections are situated on the Mangahao River,
access being from Pahiautua Railway-station, which is about
two miles and a half distant—two miles by the Pahiatua-
Palmerston North Road, which is metalled, and the re-
mainder by surveyed road only. They comprise all flat
country, with soil of good quality on a shingle formation.
There are areas of 25, 44, and 37 acres respectively on
Sections 136, 137, 138 which have been cleared and grassed.
The remaining areas are covered with light bush, com-
prising mahoe, tawa, konini, titoki, &c. About 12 acres of
Section 136 is swampy.
SECOND SCHEDULE.

THE lands enumerated above are first-class lands, and
are village-homestead allotments, open for selection on re-
newable lease for periods of sixty-six years under the provi-
sions of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as
“the said Act”). -
The day on which the said lands shall be open for selec-
tion shall be Tuesday, the 25th day of October, 1910. -
The rentals stated above shall be the prices at which
the lands shall be open for selection. -
Applications for leases shall be made in manner as
provided in Part I of the said Act; and all such applica-
tions shall be made to the Commissioner of Crown Lands,
Wellington; and leases shall be issued in accordance with
the provisions of Part I aforesaid. -
Each applicant shall state his or her residence, occupa-
tion, and condition in life (namely, whether married or
single), and will be required to make the prescribed de-
claration. -
Each applicant shall pay the first half-year's rent, to-
gether with the lease and registration fee (£1 ls.), imme-
diately the application has been approved or declared suc-
cessful at the ballot; also the rent for the period elapsing
between the date of the lease and the due date of such half-
yearly payment. -
All rent must be paid half-yearly, in advance, on the
1st days of January and July in each year, as provided in
section 180 of the said Act; and the first half-year's rent is
payable as before provided. -
Improvements and residence on the land comprised in
the lease shall be as provided in Part III of the said Act.
The provisions of section 162, and all other provisions of
the said Act with respect to substantial improvements, shall
apply accordingly to lessees under these regulations. The
provisions of section 159, and all other provisions of the
said Act in respect of compulsory residence, shall apply ac-
cordingly to lessees under these regulations. -
No lessee shall divide, sublet, or transfer the land held
by him under these regulations, except under and subject to
the provisions of Part I of the said Act. -
No lessee shall apply for or hold more than one allot-
ment, and such allotment shall be held for his or her sole
use and benefit, and not for the use or benefit of any other
person whomsoever. -
All the provisions of the said Act, so far as applicable,
shall extend and apply to the lands affected by these regula-
tions, and to the applications and leases to be made and
issued thereunder, and generally to the interests created,
and the persons whose rights, liabilities, or interests are
thereby affected; and the mention of any particular pro-
vision of the said Act shall not be deemed to exclude any
other provision of the said Act applicable to the particular
case.

Vesting a Reserve in the Patea County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of July, 1910.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been permanently reserved for a site for a
roadman's hut :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said reserve in the Patea County
Council :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and
after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman,
