Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Borough of Wairoa.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 30th June, 1910.

PURSUANT to section 118 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Wairoa and included in the County of Wairoa. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Borough of Wairoa, being Sections Nos. 49, 50, 51, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, and two public roads. Bounded towards the north-west by the Wairoa–Napier Road; towards the north by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 49 and 51 aforesaid; towards the north-east by the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 56, 57, 58, and 59 aforesaid; towards the east by Sections Nos. 38, 39, 40, and 41; and towards the south and south-west by Sections Nos. 17, 14, and 1, Block V, Clyde Survey District.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Horowhenua.

THE following special order, made by the Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £75, being 10 per cent. on a loan of £750 already raised for the purpose of straightening creek and forming road and drain in the Shannon Special Rating District, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ³⁄₈d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Shannon Special Rating District comprised in Sections 73, 76, 79/83, 123, 122, 1 and 2 of 685, 81 of 520/32, 75/6 of 520/32, 306/12, 3 of 685, 77/80 of 520/32, part 323, 5/8 of 685, 369, 121 of 520/32, 304/5, 177/8 of 520/32, 119 of 520/32, 4 of 685, 320, 293/4, 316, 370, 319, 371/2, 317, 376, 429/47, 449, 451, 366/8, 321, 373/9, 385/91, 384/93, 322, part 323, 313/4, 397/412, 495/6, 315, 318, 120 of 520/32, 681/4, 515/8, and 519, Township of Shannon, as the same are shown on the plan of the aforesaid special district; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special order adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on the 14th May, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 11th June, 1910.

THE following special order, made by the Napier Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Council of the Borough of Napier hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £134,250, authorised to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes (the amount applicable to each such purpose being set opposite to the statement of that purpose respectively), namely—

(1.) Construction and installation of electric tramways and electric lighting in the borough … … … … £35,000

(2.) Construction of drainage-works in and for the borough on the lines of the scheme laid down by Mr. G. Midgeley Taylor … … … … 35,000

(3.) Erection of a municipal building comprising theatre, hall, and municipal offices, with such additional accommodation for the purpose of public entertainment as may be proper (including cost of acquiring a site, if necessary) … 25,000

(4.) Permanent road-formation in the borough 15,500

(5.) Duplication of waterworks plant, and construction and providing of water-meters, and installation of destructor … 15,000

(6.) Payment of purchase-money for Borough Park, Napier South, and laying out same, including formation of footways and erection of buildings thereon … 5,000

(7.) Formation and metalling of borough boundary-roads … … … … 2,750

(8.) Erection of new fire-station in the borough 1,000

£134,250

the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 16⅓d. in the pound sterling upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Napier comprising the whole of the said borough; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of June and the 31st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being the unexpired term of a period of thirty-five years computed from the 30th day of June, 1909, or until such loan is fully paid off.

Made by special order passed at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Napier held on the 4th day of May, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Council held on the 1st day of June, 1910, and sealed with the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Napier in the presence of—
